My 1500 Beetle is jerking under throttle. It idles fine and under engine braking, all is good too. When I accelerate though, it's jerking back repeatedly. It's more noticeable lower in the rev range but it's also there if I accelerate hard too. I'm going to try and take it down the mechanic tomorrow, but any ideas?

my 1500 is doing that at the moment and lacking in power down low once up and running its fine.
your motor may being doing it for different reasons but a compression test will tell you.
i tested mine last weekend and i have lost 75% compression in no 3 so at low RPM it get the wobbles.

could be 1 of 2 things
1 the vacume on dizzy is shot
2 accelloor fuel pump is shot
3 check points

FINALLY get back here with an update. 'Twas the spark plugs needing replacing, completely fouled up. All changed and all good now.
