tyres for t1 1974

Hi everyone, i have t1 1974 15x6 rims whats biggest size tyre will fit and want rub on guards? Has anyone fitted 215/60 15r tyres? Cheers Dean

are you talking strut or beam??
Both came out in 1974

I am running 205 55 series 16" 50ET 6" rim on the front and 225 50 series 16" 40ET 7" rim on the rear
All under stuck guards on a 75 L bug

I am running thin spring struts though

It all depends what the ET is of your wheels

I had a 205 65 15 on the back... nicely filled the guards now using 205 50 15 on the back
i have a 195 55 14 yokohama in the front
I have digital speedo to display the correct speed

Hi Bizzare, I have beam in my 1974 and like to use same size, would 215/60 15r fit nicely on those 15x6 rims or do i have to go in smaller size thanks

Hi thanks for info, sounds 215/65 15r are too big for rear on my t1 1974 cheers Dean

How does this work and where are they available from?

i once had 205/65 15" on 15x6" rims on mine

wouldnt wanna go much wider with stock gaurds but that was with IRS
swinger will tuck in abit once it gets that low
