wondering if anyone is going down to coolangatta for wintersun

I'm heading up from Sydney with the old mans volksrod.

cool you will see me on the block

Is there any truth to the rumour that Winter Sun will be moving to Port Macquarie some time in the future?

Absolutely.

2011 Wintersun will be in Port Macquarie. However, the Coolangatta Council is trying to build another event to replace it.

there was a meeting the other week and it will be there for 2011 i think if they move it people will still go there it will just be like a cruise

I'm all for getting more events like this closer to me, but I dont really like the fact that an event such as this is being moved to an entirely differetn location. I would have thought that events such as this are as much about the history of the event as well as the event itself.

Do you think they would move Valla to Taree. wouldnt be the same would it.

Cheers

some interesting reading on these comments

It was a combination of things. Redevelopment in Tweed at some of the venues, local authoritys not being flexible, some of the local business owners not wanting to contribute, issues with the organizer, all added up to bad blood all round. It was going to happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of when. I had my oval down there on thursday, and there was a another absolutely stunning oval parked right next to mine.
