Hello all,I am after a 1600 twin port engine in a running condition. I have a 1967 bettle with a 1300 in it but want to give it a bit more umph. I live in St Agnes, Adelaide SA so if you have one or know where I can get one that would be great. Thanks Gary

Hi Gazzac,

Simon who is the treasure of the Volks enthusiasts club in Adelaide has a really sweet 1600 / 1641 maybe with twin carbs for sale for about $1500.00 it in his red and black oval ... the motor is really strong and has heaps of life left in it... you will get years out of it. He is only taking it out as he has a 2.3 lt on the way.

I dont have his number but i am sure you can track him down of the web site for the club.

The engine does'nt need to be a runner,but as near complete as possible. I will be rebuilding the engine before fitting to my 67 Beetle.

Hello chop top vw, I am interested in the motor,it is a 1600 twin port? Only thing is I dont know how to get it to Adelaide.
