Hi All, just received an email warning of a major virus about to hit our pcs, Now I dont know much about pcs, but what annoys the shit outta me is how these viruses do come about? I have always been a skeptical prick and my gut feeling is that if there were no viruses, there would be no need for an anti virus protection program for your pc right? so viruses are a big money spinner right? and who else other than the virus protection mobs benefit from this scam?? Who starts these viruses in the first place? and isnt it funny that its always these mobs who bring to our attention of another virus but "hey we are on top of it" and for $85 we will have a new anti virus package just for this new threat? if you get 100,000 people to pay $85 each WOW !! now that is a big incentive for the scum bags cheers Frank

Two words (okay, one acronyn and one word):

AVG free.

Is free and very effective if updated daily. Good email scan too, but nothing will prevent email phishing 100%, not even full price anti-virus software.

I use avira(free) works pretty well, catches most things, also gmail tends to filter out most of the crap emails.
