I noticed on Dave carters bug it has an electric speedo, im now asking steve if you could post a how to with some pics for everyone, only because my speedo cable end has beed flattened and i wanna see how hard or easy it would be to set this system up.

He has done a how to. Have a look on sbo, use the search function. And it's not cheap.

Thanks Colonel, didnt even think about SBO.

All you need is a speed sensor, the same as what Ive made on mine for my ECU would work fine for most.

some aftermarket speedos come with the sensors already you just need to mount them to the hub somehow

Hi Josh

The speedo I fitted to Davids bug had its own magnet and pickup sensor, I fitted the magnet to the front disc hub just near the grease seal, the pickup I mounted on bracket that attaches to a splash guard bolt, sorry I didn't take any pictures. It takes a bit of jiggling to get it all to line up OK.

I fitted a push bike speedo to another bug we had, it worked great but freaked out at about 120 kph and it no had back lighting. I mounted the pickup and magnet for this speedo in the same way.

I think auto barn etc sell a digital speedo and it smaller then that one above and it works off of a satellite like a garmin / navman
or you could just buy a navman🤪😂🤪
