Doesn't look like any buggy i'm aware off. I dont think there is enough bar work for the buggy your referring to Dave.

The colour reminds me of Rod Penrose's old car...

mike and i were looking and trying to work it out.... hmmm it cant be a certain persons buggy, as the wheelbase isnt long enough to accommodate his stature....

There isn't anything wrong with a pedal assembly in front of the beam is there? Its one way to make him fit.

....and buggys dont have door hinge brackets!

i agree with dave butler, dave stokers new tube chassis car. I'm building a tube chassis car and its not mine..

Must be good fund painting a tube chassis like that trying to get good gloss without runs! I had lots of fun a while back painting a full cage in a Dodge Dart - climbing through the tubes without dragging the air line through was a challenge!

Chassis looks good, look forward to seeing some more details.

the tinware by shane,only took 3 week's,larry must still be in shock.
don't see any pic's of the supercharger set up,what's doing.
i hear there are a few nice weld's on the car,not sure were they were done though.
had my stur of the pot.

There are a few of us in Sydney that are aware of projects under way. Pictures and info haven't posted by the owners as they are busy working on there builds. I know that the owner of the car in this post as well as others are more than happy to do there own thing. They are building their car, their way and in their time frame. They are not attempting any secret squirrel stuff they would just like to enjoy their build and having a debut of the car that is a surprise for people.

Hey all...

Quick update. I have finally been able to get a machine shop to properly fold a radius onto some sheet alloy so I can make some running boards. As simple as that might sound, its been bloody hard to try and get it done in Cairns. Between being promised "yeah sure we can do it", waiting a week to not still not have them done, and finally having them done but with a 90 degree bend instead of a radius, oh... and then being over charged for something I didnt want... well you get the idea.

In the end, a machine shop had the better tools to do the job than the sheet metal places... go figure. So I picked them up this afternoon and set about making my wide ass running boards/stone deflectors.





The plan is that they will bolt to the guards front and rear with 10mm bolts, and to the 90 degree angle 40x20x3mm (that you cant see) with some 6mm button head stainless bolts.
They arent going to be level either. I am angling them down to the road, from the sill at an angle of around 25-30 degrees, to help give the car a lower appearance and tie them into the lower edges of the aero guards a little better.


Once im happy with the fitment, they come off to be powder coated in gloss black to match the headlight trim and taillight trim. The stainless bolts wont be painted.

Im thinking of getting some stickers made up for them with a German skull and cross bones in a WW2 hat, and "Do Not Step"
written under it... to keep away feet.

This is part of a comment that I made in 2008 on this forum in regard to another drag car being built at the time
I think it is still relevant now:

* Some people are more interested in just doing (building) it and not talking about it untill it is finished (if at all)
* Some people just seem to want to talk about it and never have an interest in actually doing (building) it
* The remainder have the ability to do both (build it and talk about it)

Seeing as the pics have been removed I was looking at them the other night and noticed some of them show simlilarities between the car in the pic and Roger Crawfords old pro stock car......
