moving on

lads and ladies,
looks like i have started a bit of a shit storm, this is not my intention.. i have been applying the rules, some of you may not agree that a postcode is not important, but its the rules.. the post earlier on was a bit of a balls up, and i could have handled that better, at the end of the day being a mod here is volunteer role and can be demanding at times.. we all do the best we can with what we have.
we all need to keep the forum moving and on a level that all users can understand, if you would like a change to the rules please email admin or post in this thread which is the discussion for the new rules http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=83616, i will continue to apply the rules as they are written.
so can we move forward and just get along

If you have simply been enforcing the rules and people are stirred up then the rules should be looked at.
In my opinion the post code this on its own should not prohibit a post as long as the place is named in the post or in the location under members name.

Perhaps we could incorporate this sort of template when clicking on a 'new topic' in the for sales section? Similar to boostcruising.com?
If that came up straight away, I believe it would cure 99% of the "please add this...." to all sales sections.

Let's all hope that this settles down now. A few minor rule changes may make it more difficult for those that want to snipe at each-other, via this forum, to do so.

A bit like your analogy of the countries fighting in the bar - if not nipped in the bud, it could get worse. I'm new to this forum, but not to life, and from an era when you would settle disputes quickly - often behind a shed - and not let things 'drag on'. My attempts to add a bit of humour didn't work.😢 All things considered, you have done well, Barls.

Dion , I will commend you on admitting that you have made a mistake and that you may try to do your job a little differently in the future . This was not the first time I have had a run in with you and have had my adds deleted or modified , but hope it will be the last . I think it is all caused by a reply to one of your posts that I replied to , to make you aware that when you were selling a used set of wheels for the sum of $ 1200 , I asked you if the price was correct as I sell the same item brand new for $ 700 . Since then you seem to be annoyed at me supporting this forum and selling different items at a good price . To suggest that I have been hijacking numerous threads is totally unfounded and simply not true . To also suggest or put the idea into peoples minds that I am importing parts illegally is really offensive and again simply not true . An apology or proof of these actions of mine would be a suitable resolution for me . I do not reply or add anything to this forum that does not help fellow members or concern me . I will continue to support this forum and will continue to supply the vw community with reasonably well price performance parts and accesories , ROD.

rod as i said in that post, you have thread hijack a few separate posts in the for sale section of different members and this has been noted by more than me, but thats not the argument here. also i have never said what you did was illegal nor did imply it. go back and check all i said was you were using different channels.

Please supply me with the details of the so called indescreditions as these alegations are a concern of mine and are of an issue to me as you were the one to bring up the subject. This is the 2nd time I have asked for this information and if you make statements like this you had better back them up . I do take offence to this type of alegation as I know this is something you have pulled out of nowhere . I read a reply of yours that put the words ILLEGAL IMPORTING in peoples minds . If you have some proof of this I would like to se it . I do not have to justify to you on how I import or price out my stock . I have been importing for over 15 years and have never had a problem with customs or quarantine and have no idea of where or why you would use this term . I dont know if this is your way of becoming famous or not , but I will be taking this up with the administrators of this forum . ROD.

I suppose we could all just sit around and look at stuff.
If it's offensive delete it.
If it is contrary to a Mod's viewpoint it should be left alone. A good mod will let the conversation flow and we will all be better off for it. Trouble is there a too many who type big, but when the pressure is on to put up or shut up the delete.
eg: any thread over at the KC that a couple of the aforementioned big toughies take a dislike to.

I'm loving the weather gods around here. Is been absolute shit mid week for past 3 weeks, but weekends have been glorious. I took my thermals and multi layers to canberra last week only to sit around in a t shirt all day. Sat at bondi in a t shirt for a few hours after C2S. Hung out in a t shirt at Kembla Jogers clubhouse grand opening on Saturday. Played golf in a t shirt yesterday... then its back crap windy weather today. Awesome.

Will have to get myself back to Valla again. Was thinking it was dying a couple of years back but sounds like I missed out this year. Will start stocking up on tic tacs soon.

have done so for 2 years now aint had the time too many VW projects to work on

its good fun make many different types and the best part was in the tasting
I still have some bottles from the last few batches there really nice when you crack them
