Smiley ·

You could mid mount one in a Kombi and have the barrel up the little 'aisle' between the front seats with a little hole in the front nose 😂😂😂😂😂😂

That'd keep the morons at bay.

The good ole gaiu 8. As fitted to the a10 warthog Aka tank killer. That beauty can fire 80 rounds per second and each round is about the size of a red bull can. Run terrorist run.

I believe their bullets travel at supersonic speed. So the bullets hit the target before they even hear the sound!

If I had one of those do you think the missus would behave?????😏

HOLY COW BATMAN

that is a Big Gun....

don't look that big on the Wart Hogs.....

LEE

PS: must be recoil-less otherwise the Wart Hog would go backwards...
basically.. a re vamped Gatling Gun...

I watched a show on Fox the other day about the Warthog.
It DOES actually slow the plane down a bit when they fire the weapon.Obviously, not by much but man,I'd hate to be in the line of fire!

66deluxe ·

Yes the recoil does slow the aircraft down the pilot has to throttle up the engines to keep aircraft on target. Although the ammo is stores in that big drum it's only enough for 10 seconds of firepower. You tube a10 and their is some insane footage my favourite is A10 gun test the sound is awesome.

What a great photo Ian! It comes straight from the Wikipedia site about the GAU-8 Avenger cannon:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_Avenger

Before this US gun was built in the 1980s, the previous biggest aircraft cannon was the Bordkanone BK7.5 (75mm) fitted to several German aircraft during the war, such as the Henschel HS29 and Junkers 88. Only 30 rounds a minute, but not bad for the 1940s.

Looks like a bloody huge industrial heat exchanger to me!! your imaginations are insane!! but i love it🤪

pete wood ·

seen this?

I think you war mongers might enjoy it. watch for the standing cloud of smoke out the front of the plane as it lets rounds go. 😵

RED62E ·

Have I got the towbar to fit to that beetle so you can tow that gun where ever you want.....🤪

robb ·

yep they reckon 4200 rounds per min or around 70-150 rounds in 1-2 seconds blasts you can run but you cant hide
