hi, does anyone know if water temp and oil temp gauges are interchangeable. thanks greg

I think as long as the senders match then there's no problem.

Some VDO senders are marked as oil/water temp.

The main issue is that oil temp gauges usually go up to 150 deg C (300F), whereas water ones usually go to 120 deg C (250F).

yeah the senders dont care what type of fluid there in

My speco oil temp and water temp gauges are identical except the face say oil temp on one and water temp on the other

if you get vw oil over 120c/250f your engines in pain anywaay, there designed for watercooled motors

lol yeah my gauge only go up to 120
soo.. hypothetically if the temp went over 120
should the engine be shut down
or
leave idling so there's still air flow???
