hey guys im building a 1776 big bore engine cuz my motor died. i have all the parts... i think..... maybe. i asked the people at scat enterprises told me the kit had everything to do the motor build but i have had to order many other odds and ends because this is my first time doing a build. the most frustrating thing was getting ready to assemble after going through 3 engine assembly manuals and all my parts i got everything ready and was about to set the distributor in when i noticed i had no distributor shims, or flywheel shims. so its about to start getting cold and this is my main transportation and a motorcycle in the rain SUCKS. are there any little things i should know about? i need this done asap.

I HAVE

crank
flywheel
main seal
crank bearings
cam bearings
oil pump.
pistons
cylinders
pro comp heads
new adjusters
pushrods
tubes
seals
gasket sealant
longer plugs
red/ blue loc tite
connecting rods /bearings
windage tray/ may autocross car
full gasket set
assembly lube

im sure i left something out.... haha.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

You can but its asking for trouble, get it wrong and you will mince the brass drive gear, also never turn the motor backwards unless the dizzy is fitted, the drive can ride up and damage the gear as well.

Make sure the drive gear can slide up and down its opening freely, old cases can get a groove in that area, bit of emery paper will clean it up.
