I have just bought my first bug and have to fix the steering box to get it past blue slip. Anyone know if you can get new boxes or where to get a rebuild kit?

So I guess there are no local VW suppliers then?
There are dozens of places in Sydney and Melbourne that could easily post to you, best bet is to buy a current issue of VWMA Magazine (new one should be on the stands sometime this week?), otherwise try:

I've always found Vintage and V Force very helpful, and Richard at V Force loves his supers and can offer you all sorts of advice on them.

Thanks for the leads. Doesn't seem to be any new boxes available, is that right? Found plenty of LHD boxes in the states. Do you know if the worm drive can be reversed to fit the RHD vehicle. With the dollar so good at the moment it would be nice to get a new box.
