Change LHD super steering box to RHD

Does anyone know if you can take the worm drive out of a LHD super beetle steering box and reverse it to make it RHD?

i am having trouble finding a new RHD steering box for my super bug. Can you take the worm drive out of a LHD box and reverse it to make it RHD? The box housing looks the same on both.

new super boxes are pretty pricey... got a rebuild kit for mine from v-force awhile back for a reasonable price 👍

I have tried and they do not swap over. The only way is to find a new one (pretty hard and not cheap but I got mine from Classic) or get a used one in good nick (or bad and put a kit through it).
