Found out yesterday that the crackshaft in bug has splitt in half so new or rebuild is in order

not having the cash for this im thinking either

-shed it and in a couple of years i may have saved enough

-sell get some small amount back

this is it

sgetty ·

any thoughts on what its worth to sell?

matberry ·

Put a second hand engine in it....not too exxy.

waveman1500 ·

Definitely don't sell it broken, you won't get what it's worth. Buy a used running engine and sling it in. Used engines in good condition should cost between $500-$1000, so not too expensive really.

sgetty ·

thanks for the reply! my only worry would be having a secondhand motor go south too

Bizarre ·

can you pull it to pieces and just put a new crank in??

If you stip iy down to pieces and get it back as a long block ??
Would cost about the same as a 2nd hand donk??

Obviously depends what the rest of the motor is like

if you have tools, it's time to have a crack I'd say. rebuilt it yourself. have you got an idiot book or similar?

BTW, what motor is it?
