This Manx style drag buggy arrived on the Sydney docks this week and is apparently destined for the VW Portland event....

It's not a Manx, but cool buggy. What's the story? Who owns it?

VWMA Editor ·

Thanks Graham - I've edited the first post.

Better ask Henry S how to drive that thing.

HS618 ·

That's easy - Just point and shoot and enjoy the ride!!

Works for me Henry. Portland is getting bigger everyday. Cant wait to see this one run. Ps count me in Craig you'll get my entry soon

Sponsored by Rod Penrose Racing. Driven by me.

Last owner was Clyde, and he kept his engine, so we'll be running a fresh motor.

Comes with everything else needed to go racing, just need a few late nights to check that all works as it should.

Henry, any videos (film?) of you and the buggy? Maybe some photos?

HS618 ·

Craig, maybe some VHS if I can dig them out of the archives. However, I do have some (good?) shots of the underside of the polished aluminium floorpan and deformed wheelie bars from Eastern Creek Raceway in '92. I'll bring 'em with me to Portland.-H

RISKY4LIFE ·

awesome...sceaming out for some fatter rear tyres though...not that I think it would need them for traction
