Terrible to see the news of the Christchurch earthquake,
my thoughts and I am sure many others will go to the
people of New Zealand. Not one but two major earth quakes and of course the mining disaster
Grew up in the South Island of New Zealand, horrible to see all those old buildings ruined and more importantly the loss
of life.

Got the shock of my life when I turned on the TV to see the destruction!

Yeah not good. We were the for last years 7.1 earthquake and that was pretty scary, but nowhere near as violent as this one because it was closer. e.g. last years earthquake shook a couple of glasses off the shelves of mother-in-laws house. This years one destroyed that house.

What part of ChCh he from? Cell service not very good at the moment, some have power back on.
