I was in the convoy and the highest that I saw the speedo read was 80km/h.

I was up the front of the convoy and from my experience the further back you are in the queue the slower your average speed. How far back were you?

I lead the convoy and my speedo never went over 60mph and my speedo reads faster than I actually travel due to the smaller circumference of my tyres.

Plus the Beetle is a very tired 36hp motor???

Hard to keep that many cars altogether in regular traffic too!

I was 2nd last on the road in my singlecab. I couldn't catch up and Johno behind me in his single couldn't catch me. I'm fitting a v8 for next year.
