Steady down all you ladie moths, I'm puting the wench away for a few months, till October this year, any suggestions re what I should do to keep it good, jack up and put on stands? drain fuel tank? nothing needed?
What do others do when storing away for a while?
Thanks

I'd prolly just disconnect battery, n throw a blanket over it
when ya get back reconnect n kick it in the guts n it'll purr like a kitten

Yeah, I wouldn't do much. Disconnecting the battery and perhaps putting it on a trickle charger would be enough. It's also not a bad idea to drain the float bowls of your carb(s). Ideally you would want the tank to be full, rather than empty, as it is more likely to rust inside if you drain it. You could put some fuel stabiliser chemical in there as well if you want to be really fancy.

maybe rest it on stands so the tyres don't get a flat spot

Give it to me to mind 馃槀

yes stands and get the fuel out of both the tank and carbs....unless you like the idea of cleaning lacquar from the system down the track keep battery charged

Better than all that is to start it once a month religiously

Bloody briliant it dosn't purr like a kitten now so this little rest is going to be worth it. 馃槀
Thanks for the advice, I didn't think of draining the float bowls, think I'll just run it dry, the fuel tank is aluminium so there won't be a rust problem.
