maybe it's the engine setup for the next engine blow competition.....

I think at one VW national down in Sydney back in the 90's one ran for about 15min at full noise and refused to die.......

I've got a vwpower mag from the late 80s somewhere in the pile

the 1200 they tried to blow one year in that went for over an hour and it already had a crook big end to start with. they kept having to add fuel while this thing was running full song 馃お

馃槀 haha there is a first time for everything. First time I have ever seen such a level of ignorance. WTF!馃お

Trust me it's far from a first, I've seen that sort of stuff several times.

I'd say about 25-30% of bugs Ive seen on ebay and such are missing the breastplate tinware which keeps all the hot air from the heads and exhaust out of the fan.
Seems to be newbie etiquette to chuck it over the back fence when replacing the exhaust.
New people buy the car with no idea it was ever supposed to have one, engine continues to suffer.

the all time ball-tearer though was this one 馃お
and yes it was actually driven like that.

They leave the plate off so they can get the top bolts without having to get underneath.馃槀And that pic beats any that I have seen in over 40 years.Cheers Les
