Obviously the owner has had the fuel pump off at some stage, bit heavy with a spanner!! maybe used a 2 foot/ half inch drive breaker bar to get that fuel pump tight????

this beetle was at my shop for new floorpan halves and an engine rebuild only back in 2001.......
the super hypo engine is in fact a 1642 engine with stock crank & rods , engle w100 camshaft , stock 040 dual port heads with a pair of 34mm single throat webers .......
I now realise that I have stuffed up big time putting a 2868ml type-4 alcohol injected turbo engine in my oval to run 9's , when really I would have saved a hell of a lot of money using this combination......😂😂
