hey there if anyone can keep an eye and ear out about a coral red 1957 oval it was stolen last night from a locked garage (3 locks all cut) west sydney it was immaculate was going to bring her to its first ever show at the nationals its bog stock standard any info would be greatfully appreciated and i would like to thank the police and Shannons Insurance for making this farked situation a little easier with them being so understanding

But think about it, how bad is that they are now resorting to pinching old Beetles to make a buck. The next thing will be is that our old VW's will be as dear to insure as a Subaru 🙁

Mate they can take my SV6 but leave my beloved Rosie, yes let us know the rego plates etc but if they went to all that trouble to steal the car I doubt it was for a joy ride

That really sucks - goes to show there are some bad apples in every bunch.
Have you got the numbers off the chassis, body, engine etc so we can keep a lookout?
They would be hard pressed to sell it complete - market in Australia is way too small (then again thieves are pretty stupid) - so possibly it will get parted out. Maybe consider posting up any distinctive features of the expensive bits so we can all keep watch for them. (Taillights, seats, semaphores, steering wheel etc)

If you kow any of the chassis/engine numbers it would be a good idea to post them up plus these 'bast*rds' as everyone seems to be calling them are obviously one or some of us as anyone else would just see it as an old VW and not know it's value, sorry to say.

sorry guys i do not own a computer the only computer is at work so today is first day back so here we go stolen from penrith area, sydneys west there was no plates due to not being registered it was insured as a show car by shannons insurance and non of my mates are into vws so it was more of my own little stress relief machine i did have a full build up picture folder from the guy i brought it off and my avatar pic is my mates bug when i was lookin for mine thats the colours i wanted. and due to waiting till the nationals i didnt want to have no picture up so i used his but yes same interior colour.

so what you are saying is that you have no proof that the car even existed? not a single picture of its condition, or work carried out? what about the previous owner? they MUST have pictures of a cherrished friend. sorry to be sceptical, but i'd be very suprised if you get a pay out.

I was the same when I was building my car. I only had a few photos. If I showed anyone the photos of it before it was painted nobody would've insured it because it looked so bad.
But then again that was 10 years ago. These days everything has a bloody camera function on it.
I'm sorry for your loss. I hope somebody finds it.
