I have the type 1 and 2 oil dipstick hot oil sensors in stock!
Replace your dipstick with one of these units to send a signal off to your oil pressure light when your engine is reaching maximum temperature.
1 simple wire. ANYBODY can install this engine saving device in less than 5 minutes.
This will save your standard or performance motor during this upcomming hot summer by alerting you prior to cooking the oil!
wires come in all colours to suit your engine bay - green red black white purple yellow blue etc. Please advise colour preference if required!

These look exactly the same as one I got from Gene Berg in the states and they work very well. Interestingly they are no longer available from Gene Berg as they say their supplier doesn't make them any more. You might be the only supplier of these left!

Yep! they certainly do work Steve. Tinware is in now - was messing around with oil cooler lines that day.
Come brand new - packaged with instruction manuals and all info needed - Pre calibrated although can be changed at your request to come on earlier etc.

Yes you can mark with lines to check oil level as they slip in and out as per a standard dipstick
Or just use a dipstick as per normal

Yes the standard dipstick can be left in the car OR as above you can fill to correct level and then transfer a mark over.

these work great,last weekend after belting down the m5 at 110kph for a while ,just as i was turning off to slow down ,noticed my light flickering ,so on the way home took it a little easier on my stock 1600 in the bus👍

Glad they have all been received and are in use! These will save a motor, i had a fanbelt break yesterday, took only 2 minutes for the temp light to come on.

My Son bought Me one of these...
work great and you can see the temperature by looking at the metal piece that moves towards the screw head..
Mine never goes over half way...lol
I found the wire that goes to My temperature gauge now so I can check that out...
I also added another bright oil lamp on My dash....
so, I'll notice if it ever comes on....

yes these will act as a rough visual gauge too. but most importantly the light shines as soon as you're too hot. 5 mins install to save your engine!

These work Great
By looking at the top of it You can see how hot [roughly] the engine is.. if the moving metal part is close to the screw
You engine is Hot..
I connected Mine up a bright light in the dash.. and it worked when My cooling flaps closed over when driving to Nambucca

Great day for me - came home to find my new H4 bulbs had come from the UK, got them installed and went for a drive. THEN I saw that the dipstick had also come in the mail today - talk about tunnel vision, only seeing the one package initially haha
Cheers Ben! Will get it installed on the weekend. The instructions say to use the original dipstick to check the level - do you think there'd be any issues with very lightly scratching the lines on it to match so I don't have to keep changing over?

For you folks that are thinking of this here is my feedback.
Have a 66 bus with roof rack and surf boards and any other wind breaker you may think off.
I was very worried about overheating so fitting one of these. Pull out dipstick, push this in, pull of one wire, connect this wire and the last. 1minute job - no worries.
Pushed it round whilst a mate watched the guage, light comes on. So in theory it works.
Did a bit of city driving. Came around 60%. So temp does change it.
Did freeway driving at 96 (sweetspot). Came round 80%. Happy days.
I have not yet tested the calibration in boiling water and I am sure that they do not reflect exactly what the heads are doing (not straight away anyway), but for $45 and 1 minutes work it provides huge peace of mind and I personally could not recommend them higher to someone that either does not have the know how or motiviation to install a temp sender and gauge or that does not want an entra guage in the cab.
The only problem with them is, cause I knew the oil was not boiling out the back I ran the bus at 117km/hr on the way back from the coast and I think I both forgot to slowdown for the 100 zone and forgot the speed camera there. I shall await the registered mail from the government for the next 2 weeks.

Yeah they are real simple to install and i've tested a good handful of them, all come in very close to 104°C
( temp probe in hot oil along with temp dipstick)
at 104 you are at max temp.. at 110 you are doing damage.
Summer is coming, highly recommended!

I have a type 3 (i think) engine that has been converted to upright, so the dipstick is in a different spot, will the kombi ones work do you know?
