Planning a TNT Wednesday 9th November, one last blast before the years end.
I Spoke with Stanley and he's in. More the better (lets go get some Commodore's ha ha ha)
Thanks
Frosty

Dave and i will be there, providing he doesn't have to work and i can get an engine lid on in time!

Sides ·

Bummer... I'd be keen, but don't get back from o/s till just after that.

Engine lid hey... what color's it gonna be Mick ???

😉

1916baja ·

You wait mate! 😁 You'll love it!

FROSTY ·

Sorry guys got bad news yesterday, I have to work till late every night next week. I'm going to try another tnt later in the year.
🙁

Stanley ·

what about the 16th?

matberry ·

Let us know, hopefully the next wed as we were planning a trip to Pillowbank too 🙂

Dak-A-Tak ·

Why a mid week test & tune ?

FROSTY ·

Hi Stanley, 16th should be OK, i will let you know in the next few days, also be good to see Matt there too.
Hi Pete, Mid week seems to be less bussy and no bike clubs.
Talk soon
Jason

Stanley ·

I'm happy to go anytime but would rather make a night of it with more volksies.

Mid week suits me because I can tow car to work and am only 5mins away.

Stanley ·

At this stage it looks like Wednesday the 16th is the go for anyone interested.
Would be nice to get few volksies out there.

matberry ·

16th sounds good. Col and I with the Fruit Loop. Midweek so it's not so busy.👍

Stanley ·

Who's in? I did something yesterday I haven't done after Warwick before I started the car. Changed the plugs and I'm good to go

FROSTY ·

Hey Stanley, I gave mine a wash over the weekend, just need to put it on the trailer and I'm good to go. See you there.

1916baja ·

Im pretty bummed out, i don't think Im gonna make it. I never got time to make an engine cover and i won't have my trailer till after the weekend. Have fun guys, looking forward to the results! Im gonna try to get out there before Christmas.

Stanley ·

Ok frosty see you there.

Bummer about the trailer. If all goes well I'll go again

vassy66T1 ·

It's no rocket, but I think it is time to see what the single cab will do 👍

Stanley ·

Onya Marcus. That's the spirit

matberry ·

Woo Hoo....good on ya Marcus

Dak-A-Tak ·

Guys , havn't had time to get anycar ready for this outing . But Rod and I do want to head out for a skid some time in near future.
May not get out for a look and catch up , as Rod and I are working on Camel Bug as we are heading down to Sydney with it , this
week-end. ( not finished yet )
Peter Keegan is receiving a pioneer award for what he has done for Australian drag racing . Saturday night at sydney track.
Not sure about heading out for a look . Have fun and go straight 👍

Hey mick my brothers trailer is doing nothing at brownsplains, give me a call if your keen.

1916baja ·

Thanks for the offer col, i could grab johns trailer from out there but have no time this week to do it. I have no engine cover anyway.

matberry ·

Don't worry about the cover, if you get pinged, surely they'll just ask for one next time you run.

matberry ·

TNT tonight guy's, hope to see you all there. 🙂

h you want to come down for a look? I'll be leaving early. 🙂

Stanley ·

Brought my car to work so i'm only 5mins away.
freaked the neighbors out putting on the trailer at 6am this morning

FROSTY ·

Hey Stanley, Where do you park out there?

Stanley ·

i'll try for the shelter with the water tank. Where the vollksy's park for jambo. Otherwise just keep an eye out

dangerous ·

Stanley 12.6@93 backing off after 5000 in 4th, not sure the details yet.

hellbugged ·

woot woot, nice one Stanley!

oldskl60 ·

Nice one Stanley!!👍

vassy66T1 ·

It was a good night.
Stanley had a tappet cover gasket "suck in" on him so no damage.
Frosty ran a best of 13.7 ... he is stoked
The single cab ran a best of 17.2. I am happy with that for what it is (not a drag car)
Matt has some pics, but we will have to wait for them. (hint hint)
It was a whole lot of fun 👍

I did read that my bus when they originally came out took around 37 seconds to reach 60mph, so I guess there has been some improvement

mick r ·

HEY thanks to all who made it to willow bank tonight I t was good to catch up and meet some more vw friendly faces and always priceless to hear some one on their phone talking about their mates commodore trashed by a vw ! Big thanks for your info and advice Matt and Marcus, and that ride in your car Crazy Cole big thumbs up ! safe travel all .Mick the Crazy German.

matberry ·

A great night, hardly any bogans....

here's a teaser

dangerous ·

Did Col get into the 12's?

vassy66T1 ·

I am fairly sure it didn't Dave

There are some photos on Dragphotos.com.au

Her is a link to one of mine that I like

My SC launching

Stanley ·

Not a bad night considering

First pass set the shift light to 5000rpm and had the light glowing well before the end of the track so backed off and ran a 12.63 @ 97mph.
Got back to find oil dripping from rocker cover. Fixed what I thought was the problem and went again.
Got to half track smelt oil and shut it off. Pulled rocker cover off and found whole bottom section dragged in. Put it on the trailer but it's still running fine.

good to see a some volksies running especially Marcus and the SC

1916baja ·

Nice! Looks like its launching alright! How many runs did everyone get??

coletrickle ·

dangerous wrote:Did Col get into the 12's?
Not even close low 14's all nite. Couldn't get it to hook up on the kendas?was a full 3/10ths off in the 60,Gonna have to look at some torsion bars/shocks?it was either blowing the tires off or shaking but other than a bit slower than I'd like it's pretty good considering.

vassy66T1 ·

I had 5 runs.
It was nice and free (not much of a line up at any time)
I could have had 15 runs if I wanted.

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·

Nice one guys!! Almost wheels up Marcus!!

vassy66T1 ·

matberry ·

Great shot above Marcus, looks like one for the wall 🙂

Here's the rest of mine, altho I've some vids to upload too.

This is the Commy that had his mate on the phone that Mick r overheard......went something like......'doh, Franks just been dusted by a beeping VW'

matberry ·

By the way, appologies for my camera, I thought the Nikon would have managed the night shots and vid better.....

First vid, Crazy Col far lane vs. Frosty near lane.

Crazy Col (coletrickle) on a solo

Marcus in his Kombi 2165cc 30 000+km old engine and trans. 🙂

matberry ·

Lucky last

1/2 a pass of Frosty, sorry dude.

Marcus' last pass of the night, keeping some ricer honest. Nice run mate.

vassy66T1 ·

Thanks Matt 😀😀😀

FROSTY ·

Geez Stanley, the car seems to be almost sorted!
Who were you running against in the pic?

FROSTY ·

RISKY4LIFE wrote:great work

Was it "who built your engine?"
Me... Dave Butler did the machining for me( and heaps of tips/advise) and it is seriously budget home job.
I'll refresh my post in "members rides"
Thanks
