Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know that it is the last day of my Holidays and I took the Bug out with my Son before I go back to work and he goes to daycare.

Great morning driving around stopped a kiddy park for him and then took the PAC HWY for me from Brooklyn back.

I have added a picture (Still not sure how to add them to the message) not sure if you can make it out but his top has a beetle on it.

Hope you have had a good day aswell

vvwbeetle ·

Just thought I would add just had a spa and now getting dinner ready.

helbus ·

We took the kids to the VW mechanic, so they could look at all of the Beetles and Busses. We dropped our Beetle off for a service and a bit of loving, to play with all the other Beetles for a couple days.

hellbugged ·

hmmmm.......be careful with that last bit, next thing you know, the beetle "now is too small for expanding family" and on ebay 😀 ........just start talking splitwindow kombis to counter that 😎

sound good tho, i took my 4 year old for a spin today as well! She loved the noise and sensation of a hot VW! stoked

helbus ·

Ahhh but we also have the 8 seater bus already. Plenty of room for up to 6 kids.

What did you do today?

Grrr... I went to work.

What's making it harder to take than usual is the nice box of Karmann Ghia bits that was delivered this morning, and is now just sitting at home waiting for me....

😬

My beetle still doesn't run so I took my mirage for a run out to see George at classic to get more parts.

Really like this thread, luv the pic of the young fella in front of Dad's wheels, he looks like he is pretty proud.

I too had a great day with my kids, bit older go to boarding school in Sydney so when they are home for the holidays we cherish the time!

What we did, oldest daughter and her Dad went for a surf and youngest came out for a swim with us and cheered us on, the dog watched from the beach had a great day!
What did mum do she had to work, someone has too aye!

Hi Greedy,

I don't know this person you talk of, but I thank you for giving your time to help someone in need.

Please give yourself a well deserved pat on the back 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Kev

P.S. I looked after my daughter and mowed the lawns.

DubCrazy ·

Great posts all 'round! well done Greedy, huge effort there! I care for my disabled daughter and do bug stuff in between so I respect you for giving your freind a life.
I removed glass from my '69 shell to fit a new headliner, went well, try to do at least one thing on my bugs every day. Seems the vw scene is in good hands with younger families, good stuff!

robb ·

just started 3 weeks a/leave after a long year going down the south coast for a week or so with my 2 boys and strife and a few day cruises in between other than that chill and maybe some painting around the place

barls ·

worked. made 9800L of beer. lifes good

Doug Sweetman ·

Lol.... That's a killer home brew setup eh ?

I looked at three different site for vw's that I can't afford now that we just bought a new commodore.

I dreamed about working on my 62 Baja and then realised I don't have the time or parts.....

Great to see that so many of you are passing on the love of vw's to the next generation too, that how I got interested, from my old man

Doug Sweetman ·

And ps top work greedy, I bet your mate is stoked with the progress !

barls ·

yeah its a medium craft beer set up, not as big as the mega brewers but big enough to make it towards the top end of craft beer though.
probably do the same tomorrow.

greedy53 ·

thanks all but my mate who gets a pat he deserves it i watch him struggle and never complain

mactaylor ·

9800L of beer! wheres my invite? thats awesome, a mate has a commercial still and i cant get a drop cause of the ATO! pricks! ps ive had a few samples though.

pod ·

C'mon Steve ,you are one of the best blokes i've met into VW's,you always help out if you can ,I remember when i first got into the dubs and was looking for a flywheel ,you offered me one for free and i didnt know you from Adam then. Now we are both in the same club ,and i have respect for you like an older brother and good friend,so dont be all coy about and take credit where credit is due👍👍👍

lou0060 ·

took some photos of the airbox I made over the weekend for the racecar, tried, without success to plumb in my boost gauge and ordered some parts for my daughters mk4 engine rebuild....

oh yes had to work as well....

barls ·

yeah the ato is fun to deal with glad i dont have to do that.

beachbuggy61 ·

A few days late..... But I managed to get the Baja to Stockton. Coughing and spluttering due to the EFI not tuned properly yet, but we made it!

Have even got a photo, but can't seem to work out how to attach it in the post like the ones above... 🙁

It's interesting to see the response's

Dubbyfan:
My boy has been bitten by the "bug". He always runs to the garage saying " daddy's car ,daddy's car " wanting to sit in it unless the cover is on it he then says good night. He is only 22 months old. I have taught him where the gear stick is, so when he is pretending to drive I say change gear and he reaches for the gear stick and moves it around with big smile on his face. Can't start him young enough I say.
His mum hates that he is into cars already as she can see what's coming when he is a little older.

Greedy - love the work your doing.

Keep the updates coming.

Boring day - worked - not interesting.

My Grandson does the same thing. This is when he was about 15 months old - he is really old now - he is 4.
