Who is running both events?
I have decided to use the Jambo as a test / warm-up session.
I think both Ben and Stanley are both planning to run All Motor too.
Unfortunately being geared for 101mph at 8400rpm,
i will only get to half track (1/8 mile ratios),
but it still should coast through for some elevens.
There are plenty of other classes at Jambo for the boosted cars if you want to blow the cobwebs out before Warwick.

Had a good test last nite, still a little all over the shop with my staging so need to sort that out.But pretty happy the track got pretty slick as it got later but I'll say the it will be a lot sticker at the jambo. here's the numbers.The last two runs were wheelspin central.

That's right Matty but that berg cam and the 37mm vents it hasn't got the top end it used to have plus I've got 35000 miles on those heads and it's showwing.But with my tuning I'm getting 10.2L per 100k(there's people that have 12 the power and use more fuel)Im happy, just waiting now.I'll have to look at a JPM cam package for Christmas.

Perfect weather yesterday, but a little warm....mid thirties temp!
Thanks to ray Box, most of us got to pit under the shelter.
I had my 1/8 mile gear box in as a test and tune for Warwick
and managed a 6.86 @ 100.3mph, coasting from 1/2 track.
But on inspection of the new rockers found 2 broken valve springs.
Coasting through it ran:
David Butler 11.51 @ 90.53
Andrew Swanson (Stanley) ran a best of 13.62 @ 96.9mph,
Rod Richardson ran 11.87 @ 113.48
Ben Robinson ran 12.59 @ 105.18
Colin Munro ran 14.41 @ 89.46
Over in Mod Compact class Wally had his new CNC comp eliminators on,
and ran a 10.627 @ 142mph, his best run in over 10 years.
But it looks like he was out first round today(Sunday), with a 12.7 @113mph.

Went to jamboree yesterday was good to see a few bugs out there penrose done a big wheelstand towards the end of the day and looked like he had fun controlling it but still managed to run a 10.8

Can only assume that the initial coil bind distance was not "fine".
So opened it up to about .080" to .090".
Fresh springs and retainers.
Still got about 1000lbs over the nose.

Was a good day today apart from rain late this arvo which killed the racing quickly!!
Rod Penrose and his new car made it down the track for a few passes before a broken throttle shaft ended his racing so I am told.
Mike Waldron had a wild ride when a lower suspension arm broke at half track and he managed to keep it off the wall!!
Westi and the junka hopefully will get a pass tomorrow after working on the car all day long chasing electrical and fuel system issues.

Low ET was a 6.28@113mph(?) by Mike Waldron in Dave Stokers Blower Bug.

And finally.... Cheers to Troy for the lift back to Brizzy and the airport this arvo.

Well another warick has come and gone . I had a ball ( drove shockingly) but had a ball. it is always good to catch up with everyone again and relax after the pre-Warick rush. So like everyone on here I have my own little story to tell .
I last raced the Golf at Heathcote in Vic a month earlier where it ran a 11.8 , after I drove back I parked the car and occassionaly used it to get parts . On the Fri night I did a quick once over , checked the tyre pressures and left at 1am on Sat morning . The whole time on the new england highway it was bucketing down , occassionaly aqua-floating and the traction control light coming on . I got in at about 10ish only stopping for fuel once . I unpacked the car , went off to scruteneering , then unbolted the exhaust and went racing . My best time during the weekend was a 7.75 @ 91.6 mph . I roughly worked out the DSG launch control delay which made getting good lights a regular occurance . Got into the finals and won . 0.56 reaction , running 7.82 on a 7.8 dial in with the mk1 TDI breaking out . My speech was terrible , I think next time I'll prepare something a little better . I stayed with Mat Berry Sunday night before driving off into the darkness at 4:30am to pick up a Golf 1.8t engine and gearbox near Brisbane . I made it back to Sydney at 8pm on Monday , and , wait for it . The trip computer showed 8.5l/100kms average fuel consumption . I'm starting to think its possible for this Golf to run a 6 second pass and be able to use under 8l/100kms of fuel driving there and back .... The benefits of modern technology and the right modifications and the impossible can be achieved !

Dean has done a lot of work on his motor over the past 2 months and it made good power . I offered Dean my slicks for Warwick but he refused , saying he wanted to race it as he drives it on the street . street tyres , ratios , 10.1 comp & 98ULP fuel , full interior . He drove it in the strret parade and between runs I sent him into town to get me some polish for the Ghia .
He ran 8.1sec with wheelspin all the way thru 1st gear , I have no doubt that he would have run high 7's if he used the slicks . Damn fast NA streeter if you ask me .....

WPVW guest driver for the Warwick VW drags 2012 was Simon "Humpty" Thompson from Perth WA . Simon flew over for this years event and had the fortune of jumping into a fully prepared (and fueled) high performance WPVW vehicle .
So quick was the car that it left the line many times before Simon did .... this must be the cause of all those red lollypops . lol

thanks guys , but the credit for the great quality vids this year must go to my son Dean . I am very fortunate to have him at my shop with me as he is on a break from his pilots cadetship with Jetstar . Early next year he will disappear with the rest of his class and spend 3 months in London , training in the A320 air-bus simulator .... very proud of him and my whole team for such team spirit
