Near Map

Not VW but...........

Near Map now wants to charge $5,000 a year to use their website, and that is the 25% off price.

As an estimator it was bloody handy to look at sites rather than go there.
It was also a LOT more upto date than Google and it has history photos.

Does anyone know of another similar site?
There is no way I can justify spending that sort of money.

Unfortuantely no. It was good while it lasted.
Bing has clearer mapping than Google but the maps for brisbane at least are 3+ years old.

I am a commercial estimator as well so found it handy.
And I also think it is exsessive for a membership. I can see they wanted to get the users interested before purchase but at 5k a pop they have priced themselves out of a lot of bussiness users. Maybe, and I mean Maybe 1k would be more suitable.

wtf? last time I looked at near maps was free!

5k? get out of here!

Yep. Even the free version for personal use now comes at a price. I would only use it every month or so. It is very good, but I couldn't justify a subscription for the amount I use it.

I know - they see big business and multiply the price..... Software licences can get very expensive when there are two hundred users.....
