Need every-ones thoughts!!!!!!!PLZ
mattie182 - September 3rd, 2003 at 06:44 PM

I have a thought of running a HUGE fund-raiser in the year 2006ish.

The idea is the incorporate a drive around Australia in a VW, and hold VW shows and other events along the way at differant towns in order to raise the funds

In order to do this, I will need huge support, from as many people as possible, for organising, working on the car ect ect.
I plan to make it a relay, so will also need differant drivers, along the way to drive differant stages.
Each town will raise money for a differant cause, or we make it one cause.

What I need now is what people think, am Im dreaming, is this stupid, can it work

Thanks Matt

So what are the funds being raised for?

Sounds good but:thumb

Everyone else seems to be doing it, a guy just walked through byron on his way to canberra from brisbane, not sure why though...
everyone could drive to byron and raise money to fight the greedy bastard developers BECTON from melbourne coming here to destroy the beaches and beautiful environment of byron bay...
:thumb otherwise yeah go for it...but work work out why and what for 1st...

I am with the other, what are you trying to achieve ? Don't make any sense to me.

It is better to be specific and go after a result then try and cover everyhting and end up so thin you wasted your time.

It sounds like a good concept, and a great way to help out a cause.

im in for it, but it also depends on the cause! perhaps a good countrywide cause, not something thats just pertinent to one area.

something like drought-relief or leukaemia or something:)

I was going to raise funds for cancer research. Having just lost another person to cancer, I thought maybe, we could raise some funds.

I know this os too big a task to tackle myself, thats why I need as much help as possible!!!!!!

I was thinking of travelling the east coast of Aust., from the top of QLD to the bottom of TAS, raising funds along the way through car shows, and other planned events.

As I said, it woiuld be a tag team effort, so driving would only be in small stages for each person

Like I said, this will only happen, if I get enough support, cause with-out it, it will not work, soooo, whoes with me???

2006 is a good year for me. Finished uni. Maybe a year or more of employment. maybe.

My ultimate sexual fantasy is to have a 'nonstop' drive around Australia. I've done a section of it twice. Did 12,000K in 2 1/2 weeks for my honeymoon. Went to nambucca from wollongong via Ayres Rock too. Its great fun.

I am inspired by the true story "for love and a beetle" about a couple who drove a beetle from england to Aust(NZ?) not once but twice via Europe/Middle East. Yeah there was a bit of a ferry trip involved.
