Man up!! Steering box has a grub screw to tighten up the play, u need a spanner and a flat head screwdriver for that one, no suspension place will touch an old Vw , and most likely wont know what a dropped spindle is!! buy the spindles and install yrself. If yr steering box has no adjustment left get another box.

Losing a sway bar & shocks will do that

Empi is on the money.

Go to Vintage Vee Dub Supplies, but 6 inch beam may be an issue.

As for 'man up' ffs, anyone can stuff a steering box by over-adjustment and the new ones aren't nearly as good as German in useable condition. I say, go to the best around for quality repairs and advice.

sorry empi didnt explain my situation, ive just come back from living in the uk for 2 years and dont have any tools or space to have a look at it myself, the drop spindles were reamed so i could run flipped tie rod ends but now the car isnt that low. and sorry by slopping steering i meant the steering wheel doesnt sit flush against the steering column/ blinker assembly, i think that might be because of the quicksteer thats installed.

donn, perry is great, but if its not standard he cant help, i spent quite a bit of money with him and im no better.

thanks for the feedback guys, this may seem like an easy job but as i have said i want someone who can sort it properly.

cheers again
