jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 12:30 AM

Wah, I heard that the new look in fashion is going to be the '80!!!!

They've done the 60's-70's hippy revival, and now it's the '80. It must have been the worst period in fashion history ever:puke

Well the op shops are full of those very ugly puffy sleeved taffetta dresses for the girls

Oh, and the hairstyles, so sad

:o:(:jesus

Andy42 - September 5th, 2003 at 12:48 AM

AHHH the 80s ...the goodies, dr who, and the Banana Splits:D

PHAT BUG - September 5th, 2003 at 01:43 AM

Damo your sick,

I LOVE IT!!!!!

Cam - September 5th, 2003 at 01:45 AM

Oh dude, please.... Tell me the Mullholland Look is'nt "classic" or "retro" already :-o
There were some mad things about the 80's but there were also some shockers that should be forgotten.

split_hot - September 5th, 2003 at 05:22 AM

I wore red leg warmers and desert boots and big belts...... n crosses around my neck...I listerned to Prince and was still into adam and the ants I think...Didnt like madonnas music but she had a cool dress sence those days in my opinion.
I was a teen in the 80s and I agree it was a pathetic era for fashion and hair dos

Stanley - September 5th, 2003 at 06:27 AM

Ah the 80's great era for Aussie pub rock
Midnight oil, the Radiators and Aussie Crawl. Not to mention the "A" Team, BJ and the bear and the Dukes of Hazard mmmm Daisy. Gonna have to dig out my thin leather tie.....Hang on I'm wearing it....:D

jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 09:15 AM

Remeber the leg warmers now. Worn over the top of stretch leggings and with long sloppy jumpers:(

Well, maybe not as bad a look as some of the dresses that were around

Think Pauline Hanson is still into the 80's fashion. Well maybe not now, she'd have prison issue

squizy - September 5th, 2003 at 01:11 PM

Winkle pickers and stovepipes!

Squiz....

kustomkool - September 5th, 2003 at 08:33 PM

Looks like im gonna have to photoshop it.
Skewy you dont know Wawanee man where have you been.Stray cats where rockin in the 80s.

amazer - September 5th, 2003 at 09:50 PM

the 80's were cool. back then I'd get asked for ID.

the clothes I wore (no matter what day what temperature) flanno shirt, denim jacket with ac/dc patch, jeans and ug boots. On sundays I would wear the footy jumper instead of the flanno, and if it was real cold would wear the trench coat over the top. Got very hard to walk when it was raining and that thing got wet!

The hair was longish at the back but I swear it was only a mullet cos when the rest of it got longish it curled up like a girly bob.

amazer - September 5th, 2003 at 10:01 PM

Coldale beach circa 1987.

The uggies must have been in the wash this day. Or maybe it was a phobia about sand. 2 litres of vodka and orange made for a good night.

Humpty: you will recognise my partner in crime maybe? Let me tell you that when the sun came up the next morning we were the only 2 still around :) (too drunk to walk away maybe ???)

jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 11:35 PM

Chris is that you??? My you look young:o Guess you were:D

That's not a bad 80's look but.

p.s. How come the 80's revival didn't happen when 'Wedding Singer' came out?

Op shops have heaps of 80's gear if anyone is after it:thumb

68AutoBug - September 5th, 2003 at 11:39 PM

I hated Torana tail lights on Beetles back in the 80s and I still hate them...
I liked the 80s look of Your 1302S Beetle Steve ...
What exactly is the Mulholland look ?????
I have never heard of it.... but then I live in Scone... We nearly got traffic lights this year... We got 50 kmh limits in town instead... much better than traffic lights I tell Ya... We'll probably never get public transport though....
I really love the Pauline Hanson look!!!

OMG *giggles* Nice look Chris :)

I had thigh high hot pink legwarmers... I remember wearing them with fluoro green socks and bubblegum jeans :O
Fortunately I don't think there is any photographic evidence. :D If there was I certainly wouldn't be publicising it ;)

SKEWtYpe3 - September 7th, 2003 at 01:53 AM

EEEEK!!!!!

Thats is soooooooooooo scary.

I saw a good Mulholland looker last time I was at Australian VW Performance centre in Croydon. Sculpted roof liner and everything.

Thats one of my least embarrassing ones. Why do you think I picked the one taken in the dark! I dont have much shame really. Thats how I was. Up yours to anyone who dont like it :P

That (VW) look is what the ricer look is today. The guys that have them think they're shit hot, but they will really cringe when they look in the album in 10 years time. I know I cringe at some of things I have taken photos of before.

Jay_1965vw - September 7th, 2003 at 11:34 AM

*grin* no shame huh. lol

Prolly cos it doesn't even look like you either *giggles* I can see why they were asking you for ID.

jenz58 - September 7th, 2003 at 11:35 AM

Sorry skewy but that is so fuggly:jesus

Poor beetle doesn't know what it's meant to be:cry
