One up around the corner going for $4,000.00. it looks tidy enough
mrs likes em but i not keen..... give me a manx anyday..
In my opinion being front wheel drive, they would not be as good for X country work.
sorry man.
dont like em myself.
tho they do keep try hards outta buggies/bajas
I think they look pretty cool
don't think they are designed for the same thing as a buggy, just look at the wheels
and i hear the yare still making them somewhere in Italy unlike th beetle!!!
if you want a real special one get a stainless steel model there are a few running around, very shiny
bugged again.
we swapped from the old forum on the same date.
:alien
very spooky, :o:o
wonder who else moved at the same time?
given we were a day after buggybrad, prob only a coupla hunred
i read about a jap motor powered one with Nitros or something. Rear mounted and it was hot as sh!t !
crazy power and street legal but was totaly remade basically !
they look kool but:bounce
sorry no idea what they are worth...
i jave to say that i've thought that a moke woth a worked 1275, dumped, disks, cage, swaybars, gloss black with widened guards and big (say
14" hehe) minilights would be kinda fun to boot about in (if i felt like being a poser). still i won't be getting rid of my beetle in a
hurry.
i was looking into getting one for the summer.
There was a 'kermit the frog' green one that i had my eye on.
Was in very good condition.
Was $6500.
A bit costly for what i was looking for.
They are awesome, i recon.:P
I have seen 3 on the beach and pulled two of them out at no 1 cutting. The third was parked. You get a lot of laughs pulling a moke out with a buggy,
honest though I didn't mean to fill him in with sand
It is just me buggy needs to valve bounce to get power :cry:cry
I owned one. It is rotting down the back yard at the moment. They are pathetic offroad, as any front wheel drive is. The only way I could get it up a
decent hill was with a lot of speed, or in reverse.
They are very unsafe too. I think you'd be dead in any sort of an accident in one. Buggies are much safer.
didnt know they were front wheel drive haha ill tell him not to bother then, make smthing vw based to run around and go hunting/fishing etc etc :P
cheers on the opinions

I thought $1000 would be expensive....
Most have rust problems.... Mini engine & mini front wheel drive.... Nothing good there!! .... No, can't recommend them at all.... most
would be given away these days....:puke
you must be joking! mokes are worth a motza. theyre a super budget convertible, and handle like a mini.
yes they are crap offroad but thats not really what they are for.
I used to work at a mini and moke specialist for a while. a good one starts at around $4k and a battered but regoed one is hard to find under $2k.
rust was a problem (major problem! LOL) but from '78 on they had galvanised bodies. this only slowed the rust down though. :P
Yeah man.....I like to moke......then again it all depends what sort of moke your talking about.:jesus
There is a guy across the road from me who builds fully stainless steel mokes for $12 grand or the guy two doors up is doing a hummer moke, cut it down
the middle and added about a metre in the guts.....Moke city around my joint....
Moke'n Man woooweeee yeah!
I have to admit to having a weakness for the mokes, being an ex-Austin man. They're a pretty cool car to drive, but they have nothing on a manx.
The front wheel drive can be a problem offroad, but with a different driving style, they cope fairly well. The A-series motor is a bit of a weakness
in my opinion, even though people manage to wring decent horsepower out of them. I'd go for a manx anyday.
Yeah buggies win ....

what!!!! is it a MINI forum now....
just tell him to get a buggy or a rusted up superbug and chop it and be done with it. in fact go the bug. it might start the itch we all got once and
end up converting him to a second shed with nothing but vw bits.
