I suspect there is a thread on these somewhere here, I did a search but it didn't show me anything. So sorry if this is a repost! What is the story
with these from what I can make out they where only made in Australia?
So a couple more questions where the a VW Australia made accessory or a dealer created thing?
There seems to be two versions one with a 50/60's aeroplane type thing on top and one without, was there more?
And finally what where they made of, mine in the pic below looks like it is brass or maybe nickel with a chrome coating, is it original?
Thank you........
One of my most prized VW possessions resides on the front guard of my Dub-cycle push bike!

From memory there are 7 different types

There was an article on these in the Club VW Sydney magazine 'Zeitschrift' back in 1991.

I would prefer an un chromed rusty peice of crap one.
Don;t spose your fits the bill does it?
Thanks Phil74camper and vw54, interesting that there were so many different types, that wolf one looks unusual.
Wouldn't imagine they would last long on the bonnet parked up a side street!
They would be fairly hard to get off though (I know I've tried - Nah, not really)...
They bolt through to the underside do they not?
I know someone who was using one of the emblems (4th from the left on vintage vw site, or possibly the extreme right one) as a wedge to stop his drill press from wobbling on an uneven floor!
a wealth of infomation.

That was a good link.
This one is also good. No info just pictures. I especially like the 2nd one down. Hand crafted. Nice.
