SKEWtYpe3 - September 4th, 2003 at 11:44 PM

sweet, good bloke dean

what was up with her?

jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 12:03 AM

It was the ongoing gennie problem she's had all of this year.

Dean found one a gennie for Bel a couple of weeks ago which he SWORE was a good one, and it was:):thumb

I'm sure he and Nathan checked it out pretty well cos Dean had put so much time in on other occasions only to find the gennie was a dud (twice before), and he wouldn't have wanted to waste more time on another dud. I was ready to go for a reconditioned one and hang the expense as they were getting to me.

Dean was wanting to give it one more go and this one is a goodun:bounce:bounce

I was also having probs with a wheel wobble. Right hand front king pin needed tightening/ajusting. Dean greased the bearings on the outside of the wheel, put a new washer on the wheel cos the other one was broken and the wheel nut loose.

He showed me how to adjust the king pin so I know next time, and got me to play around to feel the wobble etc. Also pointed things out in the manual.

Just got home from taking Bel on a drive, the first one in many moons and it felt so good to be out on the road with her again.

Gee, her bat wing steering wheel felt funny at first cos Dr L has a SAAS sports steering wheel, a totally different feel.

Hey and some kids yelled out 'punch buggy blue', :D

Thanks again Dean, your ace mate:sandrine:thumb

*jenz sits typing with a huge grin on her face*

Thats great news Jen:D:DThird time lucky, heh!!:thumb
I'll be loking out for you out here in the eastern burbs.:D:D

jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 09:05 AM

Hey Mandie

Dougie had had a couple of goes at the gennie as well earlier in the year, so maybe 5th time????:o

I'll have to take all of my gennies and get a good reconditioned one done, ready for next time. It's getting hard to find good 6 volt gennies

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out you as well over here in the East:)

68AutoBug - September 5th, 2003 at 10:13 PM

Good One Jen
so You have decided to stick to 6 volts then Jen... You would think there would be a lot of old 6 v Generators about, with so many converted to 12 Volts.
I'm sure You are enjoying ownership of Bel again.... and naturally driving Her...
cheers
Lee

jenz58 - September 5th, 2003 at 10:33 PM

Thanks Lee:)

There seem to be 6 volt gennies around but whether they work when you put them is is another thing:o

KruizinKombi - September 6th, 2003 at 09:32 AM

Congratulations Jen, and well done Deano!! :thumb

Are either of you two interested in coming over next weekend?

jenz58 - September 6th, 2003 at 10:50 AM

I could probably head down straight after work on Saturday. Finish at 1pm:)

Would love to get out of town:bounce
