Can one of the Oval owners out there please have a look at the bonnet catch and tell me what diam the pin is on the bonnet part of the catch. I am putting mine back together and have found two catches, both different. 1st one has about an 8 mm dia pin with the spring around it and the knob on the end, 2nd one is about 15mm dia. and has a flat side to it, also if it is the bigger there is a slot cut into it does this face the front of the car or the rear

The top bit. looks like the large pin. if you look in thru the spring mine has a slot cut into it does that face forward or back ?

mine has the chamfer or flat section of the pin facing the back of the car. i cant see any slot in it

no slot sounds like you have cleaned all your parts up and forgot to grease & lube the mechanism back up
