Hey just wondering if anyone has bought stuff off these guys before.

Ordered some stuff online on Tuesday and havnt heard a word tried calling yesterday and phone was engaged for the whole afternoon then sent an email around lunchtime and didnt get anything back even though they are open on Sat.

bought off him a fair bit. hes a one man shop and gets fairly swamped.
try calling first thing in the morning if you want to get hold of him.

Yea ill buz him first thing on monday then!! With all those parts he sells as a one man job i could understand him getting swamped ! lol

Ha ha! Just do a search on here for the same problem you are having! You'll see this is not uncommon!

never had a problem but i always place the order online then ring and confirm and pay over the phone

Just be patient, George always comes through in the end.

He is just busy.

Sometimes not bad delivery sometimes i can cut the grass 2 or 3 times while waiting.

George is a nice bloke so dont take me wrong but "yeah no worrys mate " "cheers mate " when you havent got the right parts you order is a bit of a pain in the ass vintage are very good and they sell top notch parts also mick motors are good to talk to !!! and i have heard good things about RPR and dats ! i have never brought os as there are heeaps of vw parts here in AU !!!!

Don't hold your breath, I gave up after 3 months, bought direct and saved $300 and received it within 2 weeks

Funny thing - I was talking to Dylan the Dubber at the Cooperabung hill climb this afternoon and he was telling me about how he has been getting the "next week mate" line for a few months with an exhaust, and we mentioned this thread.

It would have only been 6 or 7 minutes later that a bloke I know with a replica vintage mercedes (something a bit like Cruella De Ville's - it has beetle front blinkers on the guards, and elephant feet tail lights amongst other things) saw me as he was walking past and said "what is the story with George from CVD - he is sending me some US style front blinkers 'next week mate' for 6 months now, & I still don't have them".

Dylan & I looked at each other and burst out laughing.

hi all, i bought plenty of stuff from classic vee-dub. no problems at all. George always delivers.

I've said this before but if he's that busy get some staff, he must be losing more customers trying to keep to his one man band theme. I know I no longer spend my money there no matter what a 'nice guy' he is.

Sigh phone is still engaged..... will try again later if its still off the hook iam emailing him not to bother.

The problem I have with him is honesty, if he was up front to start off with and said it'll be in in a few months that would be fine... But he just strings you along with the next Wednesday crap. If he has it in stock you'll generally get it but if he doesn't, don't bother.

Yea he told me he didnt have it in stock, so just canceled the order and bought elsewere.

I'm still waiting on parts that I've paid for from about 2 years ago now.

Well all i can say after all these comments iam glad i posted here and got out of it before i had payed him and then subsequently probably been in for a world of headaches.

Thats it won't answer the phone so refund is near impossible for guys that don't live close.

Wow - more patient than I'd be. After two years I'd be thinking Letter of Demand or State Consumer Affairs.

That said the couple of times I've bought stuff from Classic it's been simple as and arrived within a few days.

Must be luck of the draw I guess...
