 Not good mate, hope the bastard gets the book thrown at him.
Is there definitely no chance of repairing the bus?

Beerboy - March 3rd, 2013 at 08:58 AM

Sorry to hear that, I had that happen to my 71 kombi a good few years ago, he managed to move that hell of a way. How bad is the front? back looks fine. hope you get it sorted

Nickster - March 3rd, 2013 at 09:03 AM

Is that a Tiguan? Was expecting a Holden or something similar. Kinda sad to see a Vw crash into another Vw :(

Hope you get it sorted and back on the road.

Bizarre - March 3rd, 2013 at 09:10 AM

Yeah - VW to VW
Tiguan is only about a year old.

Too much for my son (or me) to repair

Motor is fine - gear box is gone
The whole front driver area is shot. Popped the wind screen.
Good for parts - that is about it.

Bloody brand new south african dual head light grille as well

empi - March 3rd, 2013 at 09:45 AM

wheels look fine! :D Bummer mate that sucks i hope they get the bastard as i hope they get the ass holes that did my garage over last week

Doug Sweetman - March 3rd, 2013 at 09:50 AM

Beerboy - March 3rd, 2013 at 11:00 AM

bugzla - March 3rd, 2013 at 11:51 AM

i dont think insurance is the point you still have to put the claim in and it will cost you no matter what

Bizarre - March 3rd, 2013 at 12:10 PM

Third Party Property only

Since it is a stolen car I can claim against that.
I will just have to argue the toss over what it is worth

It was an auto. It was in park when it got hit
Reverse seems OK but nothing happens with forward gears

Hopefully my son can get a couple of grand insurance and possession of the car.
Too many good bits to see it trashed at Sims or something

Had only just put new rubber on the wheels as well
On mag has been smashed into the gutter and ground against the curb for 20m.
Luckily I have a spare wheel. They are 17" Fuch copies.

At least the wind screen has just come out in one piece

1303Steve - March 3rd, 2013 at 12:57 PM

Hi Baz

Bad luck, I just looked into 3rd party with my sons Skyline, just about the same price as comprehensive.

The T3 held up pretty well in the end.

Steve

Special Air Service - March 3rd, 2013 at 01:42 PM

Sorry to see this Barry, another good van gone by the looks.

AA003 - March 3rd, 2013 at 01:49 PM

Unfortunately you will probably only get a market value if anything. Maybe about $2k.

If you get anything at all out of the bogan. He probably doesn't own anything or have a job.

Third party insurance should be compulsary, even if the driver is pissed the insurance company should have to pay up.:td:

Special Air Service - March 3rd, 2013 at 01:52 PM

throw the stock rims back on if you have em.

Just don't let the insurance company take the car until you have reached an agreement. Once it's gone, so is the bargaining.

XXX-1.8T - March 3rd, 2013 at 06:37 PM

sorry to hear Baz :(

waltermitty - March 3rd, 2013 at 09:53 PM

Bizarre - March 4th, 2013 at 01:02 PM

Seems like insurance is changing their mind and I can't claim on their insurance. There "may" be able chance I can do a UMD claim on my 3rd party.

Says on my policy I can claim up to $5k for an update insured driver

Anyone had experience with this?

Craig Torrens - March 4th, 2013 at 01:40 PM

that doesn't sound right, why can't you claim ?

AA003 - March 4th, 2013 at 02:26 PM

Because the owner of the insurance did not give permission to the driver to take the car.

Because the driver was pissed.

Does the driver have a job or anything of value? Although the Tiquan's insurance company will have first bite of the cherry.

Bizarre - March 4th, 2013 at 03:07 PM

The gimp that was driving is an oxygen thief

NRMA is now changing their story

Why would they have given me the claim number if I wasn't allowed to claim.
Oh sorry sir - that was a mistake. They were not allowed to do that

I'm not pissed off….… yet

But I think I am going to be.

AA003 - March 4th, 2013 at 03:33 PM

Put the claim in anyway.
Maybe you can bluff your way through it.

The NRMA gimp is probably an oxygen thief also.

I've had trouble before. Don't give up!

Be careful of assault.

bajachris88 - March 4th, 2013 at 04:28 PM

If the thief has no assets, you could always sell off his organs :grind:

Or just remove them until he pays up.

I'd like to know how he stole the VW?????????

You can't just hotwire them.
Maybe you should speak to the Police as there may be something dodgy here.
