I work at a Toyota dealership so i guess i,m a little bias but as Steve said the Corolla will get you better resale value.
However both cars will give you trouble free motoring.

I know two people one with a Mazda 3 and one with a Corolla. They both are happy and have had no problems. It will come down to your preference and
the salesmans attitude.

yep i hear those mazdas are pretty good. no one has ever complained about them in terms of reliability or price. Shame they are really ugly though
toyota are ok, they used to be way better 10+ years ago, still not bad for a buzz box. I find them corolla not very well thought out cars, the older
corolla are heaps better imho.

My thoughts is that the Toyota is a better car but I purchased my wife a new Skoda Fabia Monte carlo last year and it is a great car so far touch

After researching I could not find a negative comment on Skoda as they are 3rd oldest car manufaturer in the world
It has all the options fitted as well as 5 yr warranty and sporty looking

Skoda 0-100 in 10.1 seconds
Polo 0-100 in 12.1 seconds
Probably a bit slow for my use. They would be great for a city car, but I need to comute Southern Highlands-Sydney-Port Macquarie.
Lack of country dealer support and resale value rules them out.

Can't really say there's a 'lack of country VW dealers' any more. There is a VW dealer in the Southern Highlands - Moss Vale Volkswagen. There are
10 VW dealers in Sydney. There is a VW dealer in Gosford (Central Coast Motor Group); Newcastle (Kloster Volkswagen Hamilton); and Port Macquarie
(John Oxley Volkswagen).

aren't can also having problem with injectors failing too?
what about KIA. I drove 2012 model few months back, was a ripper little buzz box. Was one of their sports hatchbacks? Anyway put the hyundai and
toyotas of similar market to shame.

No matter how you say it, that car will have very poor resale value.
Phil also look at prices at country dealers, they can often do better than city dealers as their overheads are much lower, we saved a lot of money

I own a driving school, so all our cars get a pretty hard time. Ive done over 100k in two years and been fantastic.
It was cheaper to buy in Tweed Heads and drive it to sydney for the dual controls and warb did the signs. It felt very much like driving a large
vehicle, and fuel was amazing.
The big difference is, they still feel like brand new cars, the quality is soo much better.
Ive had corollas and swifts, both which felt really old at 80k and two years.
VW customer service is shit, but the dealer has been fantastic, infact even if i didnt buy another VW, id have to buy another brand of car they sell,
i wouldnt go any where else...

Yes VWs are always like that.
Also VW servicing is cheaper.
This purchase is an economic practical choice.

go with the corolla good reliable car and will give good re sale the mazda is good too but the re sale just isnt there

Phill the Australian Polos come from Uitenhage, South Africa. The VIN code for factory is U. Some of the earlier Polo GTIs were sourced from
Martorell, Spain (VIN code R).
The only Chinese-made Polo sold here was the booted Polo Classic from 2003. No longer available. They didn't sell many and I have never seen one, so
I don't know what its VIN factory code would be. I'd like to know though.
Maybe you would be better off with a 2-3 year old Golf if you want some bells and whistles that the Polos don't have, for under 20K.
I don't know why 0-100 is an issue. What does the T3 Syncro do it in?

All I can say is I glad I reconsidered after driving a new one. They are no where as good as the 90s Toyota's
my boss said if there was vw equivalent to the kluger he would of got that instead. After 130k on the clock the old kluger is getting a bit clunky.
what about nissan? haven't heard anyone mention them? they are suppose to be really good right?
been in a few old ones and they were good, only new one I have been is is a GTR and yes of course it was good, the speed of those make up for
everything else.
