adhesive type, peel the back and they'll stick on from the inside. about $30 once i've printed all your cars details on them.

I'll measure up the size for you today costa, haven't got them infront of me.

details needed are make model plate rego, engine number. date mths yr and car weight

Here's some more examples:

You could make a lot of money selling repro vintage rego stickers now that they are no longer required. Especially if you offer a choice of design and colour. You would want the month and year of your VW when it was first registered (April 1974 for mine.)

Ideally the old-type transer-in-water, with the car's details added with an old typewriter...

Wonder if the coppers can still book you for an expired rego label :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

One thing I don't understand is there are 2 types one pre 73 and the post 73 format.

The red one is a pre 73 format but has 1974 dated on it so is this one a fake or incorrect?

esevwbits - May 1st, 2013 at 06:36 PM

the top one is 130 x 80 ish

yea I can make them any colour year details etc required..

Phil74Camper - May 2nd, 2013 at 07:19 AM

Who knows; the early 70s seems to have two different NSW designs, one with the coat of arms on the left, and one on the right. I do recall the 'logo on right' design a little more clearly (with those very '70s blocky square NEW SOUTH WALES letters), as they were used up to the mid 1980s.

If you can get a good scan of one, maybe add it to the choice of repros if possible. It's the one I'd get.

I don't remember the bicentennial design (1988) but wouldn't order that one anyway - yuk.

Guess not, I asked at the RTA if you had to have them on during the change over period as I had one for my trailer that I had never put on and was wondering if it needed to be there after they had become redundant even though it was still current for about 9 months after the "not required" date, I was told that after the "not required" date they didn't have to be there.:crazy:

Phil74Camper - May 2nd, 2013 at 08:31 AM

You're right Donn, they no longer have to be there and you can't be booked for not having a rego label.

But the question was the other way around - can you be booked for HAVING a rego label that has now expired? Especially as we are considering applying ancient designs (with dates) from the 1970s?

donn - May 2nd, 2013 at 11:32 AM

Yeah, I read it that way but neglected to mention (my typing finger gets sore after a while :D) that they also told me that as they are no longer required by law then they are "just another sticker" so it dosn't matter one way or the other.

Yes I haven't a legit 60's rego sticker before does anyone have one on their bug?

I have also been told the size was 112mm x 64mm?

The only legit pic of a 60's rego sticker is this:

Yes you can be booked as the law was not changed. Some manager from the RTA answered that on the radio.

esevwbits - June 13th, 2013 at 06:54 AM

yeah VIC also available..
