Rod Penrose Racing
RodPenrose - May 16th, 2013 at 09:11 AM

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people that have supported me over the last 8 years since I started Rod Penrose Racing.

I started building engines and re-selling a variety of components to help with the building costs of my new drag car .

On the 27 th of April this year I broke my own record for the fastest VW in Australia that I set in 2001 . The new car on its 4th outting went 8.74 seconds on the 1/4 mile . The speed is not quite there yet at only 149.8 MPH , however I am confident that the car has a lot left in it yet .

As it turns out I actually have the fastest 3 VW cars in Australia dating back to 1998 when I was the first person to run a 9 seond pass in a VW .

I will continue to supply parts , engines and advice on all performance levels to the VW enthusiast that wants more power out of their cars . I have purchased an 800 HP Stuska dyno from the US and will now expand my knowledge and be able to tune and experiment so much more with this at my disposal .

I will also be expanding the range of components , up dating the website and releasing a lot more exciting new products at a discounted rate for my customers . My aim is to supply all of my products at the lowest possible prices and have a good supply of stock on hand at all times . RPR is about making enough money to fund my racing and to give people some idea of what I can actually do to make a VW go really fast .

I am now honing in on the 7.89 second world record that I am aiming for .

So thanks once again to all that have supported me and hopefully I can re-pay you with some exciting and fast racing in the new car real soon ,

ROD .

nbturbo - May 16th, 2013 at 10:44 PM

Rod-I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your friendship and support for the last 10 years. The first time I crossed paths with you was at the Adelaide Raceway when you bought your chop top car over. From memory you trashed the gearbox and you looked pretty pissed next day at the car show at Glenelg. You have been an inspiration to me and I guess many others as well.Wade and I had the ultimate father/son trip with you and the other blokes to the States with a special mention to Greg Mackie.Keep doing your stuff and keep us all inspired.

whathaveidone - May 16th, 2013 at 10:54 PM

Can i just say a big thanks to Rod for all the support, help and advice he has given me over the past few years. Without this I wouldnt be where i am with my drag bug, or had the chance to drive at the nationals!!!
Looking forward to seeing you brake some more records soon!!!!
THANKS;);)

SuperOwen - May 17th, 2013 at 07:30 AM

I wouldn't be anywhere near a track either if it wasn't for Rods generosity to lend me an entire running race car so a big thanks for that and countless other things over the years. Bring on the 7's!!

dangerous - May 17th, 2013 at 10:32 AM

Well done Rod.
Cant wait to see the new car run to its full potential.
With two USA cars running similar combinations, and also guning for that world record,
it would be nice to see and Aussie with his name on it first!

notchpan - May 17th, 2013 at 01:31 PM

Amazing work Rod

Super1302 - May 20th, 2013 at 07:54 AM

Well done Rod, hope you make a run in Perth one day, was easy to pop in and see you but since I will be leaving for Perth tomorrow it might make it a bit awkward

Rod has said It is going to be an engine only dyno:D

Never herd a bad word spoken about Rod!
Top bloke! Congrats mate

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - May 21st, 2013 at 07:29 AM

Can't wait to see the record with your name on it mate!! From a business point of view you have always been willing to help out and either source or supply parts and recently helped me freight my new engine here from the states. Your knowledge and expertise on getting my engine here is something I don't have and took all the stress out of handing over a hell of a lot of cash to someone on the other side of the planet for something I hadn't seen in the flesh. Big thanks to you and your contacts in the states for all your help!!

Olive1975 - May 22nd, 2013 at 09:16 PM

Good luck Rod, and thanks for helping me bring Olive back to life after her engine died. Not to mention her shit hot interior that you put together as well.

I appreciate the fact you are always willing to help out, even when you are flat out.

Good luck with your business and I look forward to buying more stuff off you.

Cheers
