Hi Lee,

Do you mean the show about the motorcycle cops Erik Estrada (Ponch) and Larry Wilcox (Jon)? It was made from 1977 to 1983.

If you are interested, there is an Internet Movie Cars Database of all the Volkswagens (every model you can think of) spotted and documented in movies and TV. For Type 1 (Beetle) there are 4,435 instances!!

Hi Phil
Yes that is the one, looks liike they may have just started the series.??
Didn't see any 1303 supers, but 1302s and earlier,,

but after watching two episodes, one after the other last night on 111 on foxtel... They use the same identical cars and trucks when filming on the highway.freeway.. all going much slower than they would normally be.. lol
so, they overtake the same beetles all the time.. lol

probably did lots of takes with that controlled traffic and just used it when needed in any show... lol

I wouldn't have taken notice but there is a very old truck pulling a trailer that is shown a lot... stands out... lol
I wouldn't have thought that a truck that old and looking that old being on the highway.. lol

A Honda Scamp showing the very large driver pushing the accelerator down, but a set of beetle pedals [with vw emblems on the rubber pads] were shown... lol

so many errors all the time... Manx type buggy shown with one headlamp hanging by the wires, but when pulled over the headlamp waas sitting on the bonnet with very short wires.. lol

I just watch these old shows to see all the cars and VWs..

cheers

LEE
