Adelaide Dubbers

Can anyone recommend a great one stop shop for Aircooled VW's??
Parts, servicing, minor repairs etc

GHR Motors on Daws Road. They are pretty much the only shop left in Adelaide who specialise in aircooled VW.

GHR would be the only place I'd go now. If I had one anyway.

It's a pity we dont have a VW Aircooled Parts and Accessories shop in Adelaide with an actual shop front that we can buy from like Vintage VeeDub.I
guess the interwebs and on-line shopping has killed shopping in a store. If there was a dedicated store in Adelaide stocking aircooled aftermarket and
stock parts I would definately shop locally.
I guess theres no demand for a store like that in the good old "backwater" state of Adelaide..lol.

Agreed Snitz, agreed completely.

You used to be able to get all that stuff, at HSY Imports or whatever they were called on South Road, and also at Volksfactory in Holden Hill. 4-5
years ago when I was first getting into VWs they used to stock aircooled parts, as did German Auto. Now they have all given it up as there is no money
in it. At the same time, GHR never used to stock parts, but they have started doing it now because there are no local stockists for them to order
from.
Last time I was at Volksfactory they still had a couple of sets of headers and J-pipes and stuff lying around, but that was a while ago I have been
told they are getting out of the aircooled parts.

Yeah used to shop at Volks Auto and other VW shops in Adelaide..plus Steve and Ziggy have worked on my wifes beetle for 16 years..Its unfortunate that
we dont have a shop like VVD over here..Even the owner of IMPARTS stopped selling Aircooled parts (even though a fellow member that is on this forum
that worked for him) was bringing in extra sales via aircooled parts..such a shame.I miss old skool customer service and chinwag..

GHR Motors are definately purists they dont dabble much in performance gear but their customer service and relationship with a customer is
A1..oldskool service that has always treated my wife like any male customer. They source german parts whenever they can.Ziggy is a vw head and Steve is
a second generation mechanic at GHR Motors taking over as business partner from his father.

I called up volksfactory a week ago and they don't stock beetle parts anymore. I drove past a place in south road near maccas and seen a massive shed
with fenders and other pannels on a rack. I usually ship most of my parts from sydney takes around 2 days delivery.

B4 Performance if you want modified work done.... Does top quality general work too, but as he is a part time operator and works from home, he only
does a few cars at a time.
