Quick coat of paint and you will be on the road in no time with that.

How much would it cost to convert to RHD? Just roughly!

vassy66T1 - May 30th, 2013 at 10:07 AM

Does it come with glass or new rubbers? :borg:

Poor effort, I can see right through this one.

bajachris88 - May 30th, 2013 at 03:08 PM

I walked past a dead cane toad this morning and was intrigued. I figured it was equally as close to rwc and required the same amount of work as this project to become a running bus. It would probably go just as slow if an oem barndoor build

vlad01 - May 30th, 2013 at 10:16 PM

hmmm what is it? a wheel barrow picked out of a river?

vlad01 - May 30th, 2013 at 10:18 PM

I just noticed that's got 28 bids, seriously wtf!!!!!!!

matberry - May 30th, 2013 at 10:42 PM

Great posts fella's....had a cak

Vlad, it is essentially a Barndoor (pre 55 split window bus)....... very sought after.

donn - May 31st, 2013 at 07:35 AM

that don't look anything like one, looks more like what I dug out of the ground in my paddock.

I reckon it's a swindle..... Those roof supports are later than Barndoor....

i would send it too the dippers to uncover any hidden rust. or previous repair work . possible hail or accident damage . once the paint is removed all will be revealed .in my experience in these projects
years of bodgery could be hiding under the soundest of paint jobs .:spin::tu:

Earlier, selterner VW Bus T1 Barndoor - A ruin!
Built between `51 and` 53 - With seating, probably a Fensterbus.
With all the sheet that has already been lost, the chassis number was probably there somewhere.
Even the label is no longer to find ...

Happy bidding!

The usual Ebay business conditions!

On 28/05/13 added the following information from the seller:

Because of the many Nachfragn I added a picture of the locality.

and:

no, there are no papers.

The only reference to a previous owner I believe the lettering on the door - probably a TV / electronics business from this region!

The bus was probably decades for the most part in soil (wet) see photo, why it is so rusted - but also lacks a lot of sheet metal such as on the sides of which I have found no trace - maybe it was separated out and recycled ... .?

In all fully oxidized soil and motor laminations, which I found I could not read the VIN number - the nameplate on the motor bulkhead plate
was not more useful .....
