grumble - June 29th, 2013 at 08:23 PM

It'll find it's own way home or soak in.:tu:On the serious side when I had the servo a laser came in smoking and spraying oil everywhere, when she filled with fuel about 15km away the guy told her she needed oil and sold her a 4 litre container which she poured in the filler hole.I think I drained nearly 7 litres out.

h - June 29th, 2013 at 08:40 PM

My sister did that once. She said it was low on the dip stick (was actually at the full mark) and filled it to the top of it. LOL Was about 12L of oil in it.

Isola - June 30th, 2013 at 02:06 AM

That Mini is going to leak oil anyway. She is just pouring it all over the engine to save it the trouble.

hrastovica - June 30th, 2013 at 04:23 AM

Like putting oil on salad haha

nils - June 30th, 2013 at 08:25 AM

When I was a young bloke, my mate's old man worked at a Morris dealership (I think it was).

They had sold one to an old lady who kept bringing it back for a tune up - she reckoned it kept using lots of fuel and running very rough.

After 3 or 4 times - and it seemed fine after each tune up - my mate's old man said in desperation "Take me for a drive and show me what it is doing".

They got in the car, the old lady in the driver's seat, and she pulled out the choke button, hung her handbag on it, started the car, and drove off.

speaking of handbags. few weeks ago when I was going to work and it was one of those days where the traffic just suddenly stalled just before my turn off. It was just few meters then stop then few meters for 20min.

Anyway the chick in front of me driving a honda was not paying attention and was looking through her handbag, then when we moved forward for the next few meters she moved while looking in the bag again and ran straight up the ass of a ford :lol::lol:

I pointed my finger and laughed as I drove past :lol: I had a grin for the rest of the day at work.

How stupid can you get crashing doing a mere 5km/h

ancientbugger - July 1st, 2013 at 08:27 AM

I think I'm with Mr Torrens!;)

Vlad, I've seen so many blokes who are equal or more stupid than the lady shown in your video! When a bloke of around 30yo states he has never used a screwdriver or spanner you realise that the world is full of useless people, male and female!

68AutoBug - July 1st, 2013 at 01:38 PM

Jeff

that was an elderly lady driving an early beetle..:lol:

that's what I was told many many years ago.. lol

and then the one maybe from the same lady who complainedtthat the car would wander about on the road when she let go of the steering wheel..
so the mechanic took it for a drive and couldn't get the beetle to wander anywhere...

So, He asked the lady at what speed did this happen..

She replied 65 MPH... [FLAT OUT]

cheers

LEE

There are those that have it, and those that don't.

I sold a former pride and joy that needed some tlc (head gasket job). The guy in SA i sold it to did the work, then called me up asking 'whats with the rattling sound?'. I said 'what rattling sound?! it never rattled when running. what oil you using?' thinking it was too low viscosity and the shim-over-bucket tappets were making a racket.

'Oh no oil in it yet' he said... i was like WHAT!!! He had ran it for about 5 or 10 mins he rekons trying to work out what the rattling was. Worse yet, he was a mech-engineer student about 2 yrs into it. Obviously hadn't reached the tribology class yet :(

All part of the learning curve, we all started from humble beginnings. Unfortunately some with far more devistating consequences than others...

vlad01 - July 2nd, 2013 at 09:35 AM

holy crap! wow no oil?

only time I did that was on purpose to see what would happen at redline.

Haha, yea i thought it was an obvious no no like walking around in public while wearing jocks on the outside of trousers ... Although some might find it fashionable like those chicks with them tights cut horizontally down the legs like they been hit by an outboard motor of a tinny while swimming.

but some just don't think/consider or have very little influence/insight to the overall systems and reasoning at play in machinery. I can't hold it against him, but i'm sure he's learnt now.

The joke was missed which makes it even funnier.

it's a skit from a German Comedy show.

I know its hard for some guys to fathom but there are some females out there that really know their shit with cars.
Few and far between but they do exist.

But there are many who need a good crash coarse just on the bare basics.

I took my old house mates car to the shop many years back and the oil light was flickering on corners, when I asked her about it she said Oh i'm gonna get some oil for it next time I get fuel......
It was under the add mark on the dipstick

Or the young girl over the road from my parents whose Corolla had a stuck thermostat, she pulled up in the driveway with it starting to boil then ran and got the garden hose to spray the engine to cool it down.
We caught her just in time
