Dave Stoker , owner of the LMS engineering drag beetle was rushed to hospital late yesterday afternoon and went in for an emergency operation last
night .
Dave has been waiting for the results of some tests performed last month regarding a heart condition and took a turn for the worst yesterday .
Lorraine has spoken to him after the operation and will keep us informed of his recovery .
For you people that aren't familiar with Dave , he has been involved with the VW community for the past 25 years and has built some of the nicest VW
drag cars in the country . The current car is full cro-moly tube chassis beetle running a supercharged 2800 cc Autocraft deal and his previous car was
a tube chassis turbo charged beetle .
Dave is based out of Campbelltown , south west of Sydney and was due to have a minor health tune up on the 23rd of July .
All the best and I wish him a speedy and full recovery and I will keep you up-dated as things progress , ROD.
Not good news, hope Dave gets well soon.
Get well mate!!!!!!! See you at the track soon!!!!!
Get well soon Dave, beside building great drag cars he also good for laugh any time you see him or a comment that brings you back to reality, he's also done lots of custom machine work on my cars and many other VWs
Dave is a top bloke and a great friend.
Always there to help when you need it and never afraid to put shit on you when you don't, all in aid of a good laugh of course.
Wish you a speedy recovery mate.
Mike
Not good to hear after seeing him on the weekend sharing a few laughs as usual. I hope you get well soon you old bugger. Thanks Rod for letting us know and please keep us informed of his progress.
Looks like he went in earlier than expected
I carnt wait to hear his dreary voice once again
All the best and get well QUICK like yr Drag Car
He'll be looking forward to hearing your voice Dave B, I'm sure he will give you a good tune up when he spot's you next.
Stoker, a man that is so genuine and honest the if he thinks your a dickhead he'll tell you that you are, you gotta love it.
Get well Dave, I need some machining done lol.
I have spoken with Lorraine and Dave is doing well at this stage . He is sitting up in bed and starting to get bored already . His surgeon was happy with the procedure and he should be back to himself in no time ( great ) . He is still in the ICU and will maybe be moved out of his $ 1000 a night suite into a normal room over the weekend . He may have access to his mobile ph as well and I will keep you all informed , ROD .
I called in to see Dave in hospital this afternoon on my way home from the track . He was sitting up in bed and he looked really good . He sort of feels ok but the food is probably the main thing keeping him from a speedy recovery . He isn't sure of how long the vacation is going to last and is looking towards going home soon and some normal food . He is starting to tell everybody in the ward what he thinks of the situation so I presume they may move him out sooner than he thinks . I also passed Henry on the way out so that is good that he is getting some support , ROD.
Thats great news, thanks Rod
