Well what can i say , i'vve done some crazy stuff over the years in this car or that and driven my buggies a lot further than most , but come the 5th
Oct myself , Eileen , Paul ( Manxiberty ), his wife Kate fly out of Australia to meet with Buggy Brad in San Deigo and a few days after that drive
across America in dune buggies with the grandfarther of Dune Buggies , Bruce Meyers .
THE CARS
Me being me , i have purchased another Tow'd in California which Brad kindly picked up for me and yes that is fully legal to drive in Amarica as it
sits
Needs a few small items repairing but with 10,000klm in front of us in 13 days it needs to be right
Paul and Kate will also be in a Tow'd although their one is actually a Tow'dster as it has a full set of guards and deck lid etc , which belongs to
Brad and has just been finished .
THE TRIP
This trip is being orginised by the American Manx Club and is aptley called the "Sea to Sea Safari" http://seatoseasafari.com/and as mentioned in the intro is a drive from California to North Carolina over a 8 day period
with Bruce and Winnie Meyers and know doubt many other buggy heads from around the states and world to an event called Manx on the Banx.
The kickout buggy that Bruce and Winnie have recently finished is then to be auctioned off at the event as part of the celebrations .
OUR BIT
Along the way from the point of leaving Australia together the 4 of us plus Brad when we get there will be armed with go pro's with the aim of trying
to capture plenty of fun times , the car prepping and interviews etc and of coarse the Safari which at the end of we should have enough footage to
put together a DVD to show at events like Valla next year
Will keep you all posted as the days tick down
Andrew
Am predicting some crazy times ahead....
You know it
wow!! GREAT STUFF GUYS - enjoy
Oh... PICTURES!!!
Feeling jealous, sounds like you guys are going to have an awesome time....
You guys are mad! That sounds like fun! Good luck!
we better start driving on the wrong side of the road for practice then
Sounds like a pretty sweet road trip (offroadtrip?) Have fun!
What an epic. Love your work Andrew, you all have a fat time and travel safe. Can't wait to see updates and of course, the Manx Movie....Yoo Hoo !!!!
Paul and myself are as you can imagine orginising like crazy to leave for this event while also trying to keep my Towdster moving along as well and as
part of our discusions we are going to bring back the green Tow'd to have at Valla and other events as part of the DVD showings and what ever
Andrew
you lucky bastards !
Sounds like an awesome trip. Look forward to seeing the video
We'll the tickets are booked , now to orginise everything else !!!!!!!!!!!
wish I was going.
Sounds like a great trip Andrew!! Hope you have heaps of fun
What an awesome adventure that will be.
oooh............. just noticed you are goingto Roswell
Aslo - can see your towd as duals
What motor is in it??
You going to ship it back when finished??
Yep , will let you know if we run into any UFO's and Aliens
As for the Tow'd motor , it is supposed to be just a 1600 although those dual carbies are whopping 44 IDF's but they do have only 28 vents in them
but all in all it drives well apparently according to Buggy Brad .
Yes we are bringing it back in our Container along with quite a few other goodies , another Manxster kit , a Kickout SS , and what ever else we can
find at Pomona Swap .
As i already have my Tow'dster not to mention my other cars , Paul is going to take ownership of the Green Tow'd once it leaves the states and we
will use it as is for the first 12 months as a promo vehicle for our DVD at events like Valla and Dubs at the Abbey etc
Not long now folks and we're off on our BIG adventure , getting a wee bit excited
Have a safe one Andrew and heaps of pics please.
Enjoy the adventure guys, sure your going to have some fun.
There will be stories galore I'm sure.
have fun.
you have a pm about container space too.
