We have ordered a new Golf cabriolet but it will take about 6 months to arrive so the dealer has let us use a new UP!.
I have to say it is a real eye opener. It has sat nav and all the airbags and safety equipment in any other VW along with the city brake that
automatically brakes if you are about to run in to anything when you are doing less than 20kmh.
It also drives like a much bigger car and feels to be a quality build as well and it is only 14k for the 3 door.
Truly amazing.

Are you saying that they're giving you 6 months' free use of a loan car? That's amazing! The fact that it takes 6 months to get your car is
ridiculous in the first place, but at least they're looking after you in the meantime. The cost of offering that kind of service must be pretty high,
at least $5-600 worth of rego and insurance alone, plus the depreciation on the actual car itself and possibly even a service depending on how much
mileage you do.
With an offer like that, I would be checking really carefully what kind of excess you are liable for if you happen to have a crash. 6 months is a long
time to risk it if you're not covered well enough.
It is not free use as such as they included a cost in the new car for it but the price I paid was still so much below what another dealer was quoting,
I am way in front. They are paying for the rego and insurance as well as any services during the period and the excess isn't too bad. The car is
also brand new (54kms). The 6 month wait is a pain but we ordered lots of options on it so there were none here like it coming in. The loan car
makes the wait more bearable though and we will end up with the car as WE want it rather than as someone else has specified.

I have to agree, the up! is a great little car. My daughter has had her 5 door up! since november last year and has racked up over 25,000 trouble free
KMs. It costs her $7 of premium unleaded to drive from toowoomba to brisbane and at 100kmh you cant tell if the engine is on its so smooth and quiet.
We even squeezed 3 adults across the back seat for a short journey! My daughter also claims to have seen 180 kph on the speedo (private road of course
) but the factory claims a top speed a top speed of 175, but as a
responsible parent I would never condone such activity
WOW
now that IS unreal...
and very unusual... lol.. Do They have stickers all over the UP saying where it came from etc ADVERTISING...?
I can believe the 6 months wait on the new car...
You have to wait until the robots are in a good mood.. and then get them to add things to the car... OR someone has to sneak in and add the parts
while the robots aren't looking... lol
The UP, although nothing like a beetle, is probably more like the beetle with low cost motoring etc..
I only saw My first 5 door UP a couple of weeks ago , liked the pop out windows on the rear doors... unusual..

Most VWs now are custom order if they are a brand new release and you want specific option packs. They make their cars with whatever gadgets get picked and then that's it. No modifying what's on there because the car isn't programmed for or built for other goodies. So if you decide 6 months after having the car that you do want a boost gauge... too bad. Not set up from factory. You have a different dashboard and a different programming in your BCM. Live without it. That part will never even show up as an option for your VIN on their system. Because of this, they can't just take that grey Golf you want and put in heated leather seats and sat nav... you order and wait. 6 months for a custom build order and shipping is not a bad deal. Especially when they let you cruise around in an Up! for that time. They're a great little car!
