Folks,
I am looking at a small/medium sized milling machine which is an excellent price. It is in Caboolture. I am in Bomaderry. Problem. The freight on
top of the purchase price is going to lift this machine above the price where its economically viable for me.
Is there anybody out there doing freight for a machine which is bloody heavy (prob 200kg guesstimate) from up there to down here. I am happy to come
to Sydney/Central Coast to pick it up from there if anybody is able to assist. I am of course prepared to pay cash money, just not the amount the
freight companies are going to charge. Its not the bulk of the item for them thats an issue, its the handling of the bloody thing because of the
weight.

Hey hutcho,
You still trying to organize this? May be headed Newcastle-caboolture-newcastle with the ute chasing parts. week after next.
PM me, see i can help
Have you tried e-go couriers? They cost a lot less than most couriers.
You still have the issue that if it is over 45kg or so, it needs to be on a pallet and you need to be able to get it on the truck at pickup and off at
drop off. Whatever way you do it, you still need to get it on and off so it matters little whether its courier or getting someone to grab it. They say
you need a forklift or you can pay extra for a tailgate lift truck. Better still get it sent to your local depot (Newcastle maybe?) and pick it up
from there (in the back of a beetle lol). Saves 25% on the freight. Cost me a bit under $50 to send a palletised 100kg cylinder head to the depot in
cairns from Brisbane. Probably the same sort of distance.
Worth a try.
