Does anyone know if there are stockists in Oz that sell Bilstein parts?

The old mans rear shocks are still working perfectly fine but the upper and lower rubber bushings are starting to disintergrate.

Just wondering if I can get replacements somewhere, be a shame to replace good shocks simply because the bushings are gone.

They are a standard rubber bush and sleeve that should be available at any suspension place

For future reference, if you need any work done to your Billy's then go straight to Baker Engineering in Vic. 03 95446066.

They will re-valve/rebuild your shocks to whatever requirements you want.

I am just curious, I just had another look, thats a coil over, is it a rose joint rather than a rubber bush.

While your at it you might want to get rid of those coarse threaded bolts through the spring plate , Volkswagen put a fine threaded bolt there for a reason , ie that the pitch of the coarse bolt will slowly work loose with the constant vibration of the unsprung part of the suspension

The factory bolts didn't have spring washers on them did they? I'm sure I;ve only seen flat washers but who knows how many times some of these cars have been apart.

No star washers on an a/c VW, the spring plate-axle tube should have 2 flats and a spring washer on M12x1.5
