i have a 1960 KG, made in germany, with the original floor mats! been resprayed by reputable panel beater 10yrs ago, in original beige cream color. Next to no rust.

has door card design i've never seen before

odometer reads just over 50k miles, body /suspension/engine all look the part, i reckon

purchased from 2nd elderly owner, who was mates with the 1st. I am the third! he babied it for 20 yrs.
but reupholsterd seats in matching leather, and replaced windcreen rubbers with no chrome californians - guh!

boot protector still original!

6v all looks orig / engine orig etc etc.

is this a 25k car, or 20k or 15k????

You can pay $10k for a car from the USA in need of restoration and easily 4-5k on a rust bucket. Restored cars can be $15 to $25 but yours is original. A nice original one like yours could go for $35k in the hands of a classic car auctioneer or specialist. Depends what it owes you and what they are offering. If you paid $5k for it you might be happy with $10-15k. But it's worth more than that.

Nice original car $35+ depending on how long you are willing to wait. Original cars hold their value better than modified ones. Good Luck with sale, looks nice.

I would say it would be closer to the 25-30k mark as it is not original.
It has been re sprayed and re upholstered. And whilst it is a very tidy car that is the price I have seen a few very tidy karmans going for that have been restored similar.

Out of curiosity - has the steering wheel been painted during resto?
It seems like a far bit of wear if it is the original coating for 50,000miles?

Have a look on car sales, a lot of karmann ghias stay a long time because they are overpriced, it is worth what some one is prepaired to pay for it,

If someone offers over $20k I think that is a good deal for you!

Karmanns are not getting the value they did years ago, I sold my fully restored and slightly modified 64 Karmann Ghia 12 years ago for $25k Wish I had collected some Splitty Kombis with the cash as these are pulling the money now, thanks to Mat and his Telstra Kombi kicking off the interest in Australia again!

Your car although standard is not original with different seat trims and resprayed, inc the headlight surrounds??? This may or not appeal to the prospective buyer!

Decision is up to you not knowing your financial situation do you need the money or how much profit you stand to make? Chances are you will not get another one, if you love it keep it, if you love cash more sell it for what you can.
