It 27th - 30th March at Eastern Creek in Sydney https://www.powercruise.com/  My son has about 15 mates going most with R31 Skylines.

It fills me with pride when I meet my sons friends for the first time and they have heard my exploits from my son, a son bragging about his dad, its usually me bragging about what great son he is, there I go again.

Had a blast yesterday, going out again soon. I'm the only Beetle there. It just like driving down Pararmatta Road in the 70s and having a race with random people

Just got back, had a fantastic time, my Beetle was very well received and most people asked why there was no other VWs there.

I would recommend this event to anyone, so if your VW drag car has a cooling system and your tied of using it one 1/4 at time you should go to this event, you can drive in shorts and thongs so you could take girlfriends or sponsors out for a ride.

You can drive around the track in cruising sessions and line up against other cars for quick blast to the next corner, its so much fun.

They have drags up the main straight, no lights just the drop of hand from the starter, just like birickies used to be.

I went in the drags and won 2 lost 2.

The event has a reputation as a bogan gathering, not true, talking to other entrants I never struck a bogan, although did feel a little over dressed at times and I'm thinking about growing my Mullet back

I went to power cruise a number of years back in Darwin with mine. Probably a smaller event but still enjoyed.
Somehow wrangled a few awards which was cool.

Good on you for the special mention. It was great to get out and drive around with like minded people, you do have to keep your wits about you, dont drive into heavy tyre smoke, keep an eye on your mirrors and give cars doing skids lots of room.

It was so much fun having quick races on the roll with Evos, Skylines, rotors etc
