Hi Dave
where are You located?
You may have to try different VW parts suppliers to get all Your parts.

Windscreen washers.. as most mechanics passing cars for road registration have never seen a car without washers... can be a problem..??

although there are books that tell You the changes to beetles over the years and they will tell You when the wipers were added.. so you could print that out... the standard Aussie beetle in 1965 didn't have washers but I believe the hole was there to fit it??

Thanks for replys , I'm located in Caberra, also looking at some advice on engines , the one that came with car starts with FO, needs a strip down and checking over, I also have a spare one starts with 95 , seems to be in better condition , both 6 volt , which one would be best to use ?
Thanks

Locally (Aust) Das Resto QLD or Just Kampers. Internationally order thru CIP in the US.
There is one operator in the Western Sydney area you should avoid like the plague. I recently ordered a pair of horn grills for a 1960 Bug over the phone, he took my card details and said he had them in stock and the grilles would arrive in 3 days, the payment was debited from my account. 10 days later no grills! I rang to let him know that the grilles had not arrived and he said that they were on a shipment that had just arrived and they would be delivered in 3 days! 2 weeks later still no Grilles, every time I ring I get no answer or the line is engaged. :td: In my book that is theft!

Moral of the story
1) Don't buy from this guy. PM me if you want his name.
2) Try not to give out your card detail unless you can rely on the retailer.
3) Use PAYPAL or similar when ever possible.

Give us a try, we take Paypal and may end up being cheaper than you think including the carriage.

Hey Alex, can you tell us where the parts are shipped from that are ordered on the Australian Heritage site? Some parts I have looked at ordering have quite high shipping costs (example a heated rear screen) which suggest they are coming from the UK
Cheers...........Wayne

Hi Wayne

Yes all the parts are shipped from us here in the UK, Glass especially has been proving an issue but we have had great sucess with everything else.

Cheers

Alex
